CHLOE HARPER
After the wedding, things had only gone from bad to worse. CeCe had barely had the time to be excited about marrying the love of her life, considering everybody had something negative to say about it. There were a handful of people, only one very close to her, who were genuinely happy for her, and while that shouldn’t have matter, somehow it did. It brought down her mood a lot, and although CeCe put up a good front, pretending like it was okay, she hadn’t been able to pretend while locked away in the bathroom last night, sobbing over her phone. Fortunately, she’d been able to use the shower as an excuse, and had used the hot water to wash away her tear stains and puffy eyes, then had put on a front again and gone back out to Ali. There was no front when it came to making love to her wife, of course. That part came naturally, and CeCe was able to forget about everything for a little bit and just soak up as much of Aliyana and their newly married life as she could. Until she’d woken up this morning, that was.
To say what’d happened at the apartment had been a shit storm was an understatement. It had been bad enough that she’d been crying and begging Robin not to leave her, but for her to then kiss her? And not only to know she’d just completely screwed over her wife, but to know Robin’s girlfriend had literally seen it? CeCe couldn’t imagine much worse, and not knowing what to do, nor really trusting herself to be behind the wheel for too long, she’d driven directly back to Aliyana’s house from the apartment, never once stopping crying the entire time. She had to be honest with the other woman, she had to tell her what’d happened. This was no way to start out a marriage, and if she kept it from her, it was only going to become worse, she knew it was. She had to rip off the bandaid and just tell the other woman what she’d done, then they could move on from it. Or at least she hoped they could, anyway.
Provided Ali didn’t ask for a divorce right there and then, this would be CeCe’s home again soon, so she didn’t knock on the door. She simply let herself in, tears rolling down her cheeks, and a new lump forming in her throat when her eyes landed on Ali in the living room. She didn’t know how to start this or what to say, but it was obvious without her even speaking that something was wrong, considering she was still crying, and it was obvious she had been all day. “I have to talk to you,” she finally said, taking her wife by the hand and walking her over to the couch. She didn’t feel like she even deserved to be touching her right now, so let go the moment they were sitting and forced herself to look Aliyana in the eye. Lifting her left hand, she touched her wedding band with her thumb. “I need you to know that this means something, okay? This means more than anything, and I just need you to know that. I need you to know that you mean more than anything, Aliyana...” Yet again, she was choking on her words. “I need you to tell me you love me.”
