i dont check simons blog but i remember you posting about Simon thinking every mfer from Australia is you, so it i was joking about that. (feel free to not post to not incite discourse(?) lol, idk why youre talking about that but i assume its bc of that)

I don't think he thinks everyone in Sydney is me, though. I think he just wants to believe that so he feels victimised.

It's kinda sad since I just spent the last three days practicing my digital painting skills. He could be doing something equally productive.

The reason this blog remains active is not because I am obsessed with @simonalkenmayer. It's because of posts like this one and asks like this one.

I would really love to put this blog behind me, or at least stop talking about Simon on it. I find Simon boring in the extreme.

And honestly, if the misinformation he was pumping out was only that he's a terrible monster and all of recorded history is wrong, then I wouldn't care. But when he's explaining on his blog how to DARVO people (convincing victims that they are actually the abuser is one of the main tactics of emotional abuse), and then getting asks from abuse victims complaining that their therapists won't believe that they're secretly abusers... That's why this blog is still here.

Simon is absolutely right that I want his behaviour to change. I want it to change because it's harming people. I would be just as bad as him if I didn't want that.

I do love when he tries to act like he's God, though. Definitely doesn't look like he's compensating.

Part of Simon's backstory is that he's immensely wealthy. Skynet is the name of the system in Terminator that surveils the whole world, or something.

However, in real life, Skynet is the name of an international freight company.

Basically, Simon's trying to say that he's going to use his wealth and therefore intelligence (the author seems to think these are interchangeable) to create new and better AI, and to replace our species with robots.

I don't think Simon is a bad person, I just think he's stupid, so I think his intention is to make a dark joke about how he will use the machines to make Palestine free, however the rise of the machines trope usually involves the machines turning against humans and killing everyone, so it's pretty tasteless.

Okay, so it's antisemitic, and he's only spelling it like that because he wants to claim "Semite" is a racial category, which is false.

There are people who speak Semitic Languages, and antisemite is a term that was specifically created to replace judenhass (hatred of Jews), but conflating those two things so you can pretend antisemitism means hatred of Arabs is a ploy used by (usually) end of times christians who want there to be more bloodshed in the middle east because they think christ will only return to earth when all the other religions have died off or converted.

The character thing is... well, it's not even that annoying. Like I can believe that if you were a thousand year old demon and people kept saying you weren't, that might get irksome and you might have some fun with it. The problem is in the execution.

On the face of it, no it wouldn't be problematic for a character to do that, but when the character does it in an offensive manner, then yes, it becomes offensive. Exactly the same as if you were any other person.

Simon's problem has always been in the execution.

I mean, I did have some hope that after all the work he put in (and he did put in work! He tried to change! And he backslid immediately!), he might be able to tell the difference between the Israeli Government and Jewish People, but apparently not.

The antisemitism threat is just because he wants people to get in his inbox and accuse him of it so he can pretend to be a wounded victim again. He LOVES playing the victim card. I should ignore it if I were you.

(🎀) hey so your recent post made me curious so i looked on simons blog. the shit hes saying is so far out of line. "Religion is a plague. It WILL kill all of you eventually." <- great generalization there buddy, im sure you in all your nonhuman glory is immune to bias and generalizations and etc. he spouts of "you arent immune to propaganda" but says this shit. religion in of itself isnt the problem / core root of the problem idk how this author doesnt see that. seems very anti-theist cultural christian to me. thoughts?

We already know "Simon" is a Dawkins-esque anti-theist, but what I'm more interested in is this:

It amuses me to no end that you see objectivity as superiority.

Just the assumption that because he's not human, he must be objective. There's no reason that should be.

Like, idk how to explain that if you're alive you have biases. It's the core concept behind the age old question "If God is good, then why do bad things happen to good people?" The answer is simple; we think dying of a disease is bad, but the virus that caused the disease thinks it's good, and a perfectly good god can't choose humanity over all his/her/its other creations.

I'm not even religious and I can work that one out.
