Mother of the Nation! "She held an increasingly political role, partly because of constant harassment by the South African security police. She became an international symbol of resistance to apartheid and a rallying point for poor, black township residents who demanded their freedom. Her resistance to harassment and championing of the anti-apartheid cause led to periods of imprisonment. Her image and activism drew to her many anti-apartheid activists. Her prominence led to great influence over young, radical township activists but also growing controversy. We are all lopsided, and if MaWinnie lacked or deficient in a certain element (or elements), it simply means that she needed to consciously develop that particular aspect in order to appreciate and/or work harder in that dimension of life. Sometimes we overestimate the element that we are least endowed with, sensing it as a lack within ourselves, but more often we neglect or ignore it. Winnie Madikizela-Mandela's fundamental needs, values, and orientation towards life are symbolized by her warmth, inspiration, enthusiasm, practicality, realism, material interests, social, intellectual qualities, emotional needs and feelings. Which came together as the fire she was!" #AllBlackWithADoek #LalaNgoxolo
