finally kissing the person you’ve been pining for . - alex / @allcreated
it feels strange for alex to be in her home. something about his clean-cut aesthetic doesn't mesh with the way she's decorated, all dark colors and comfort. it's like a snowman standing in a patch of black ice: natural, but it stands out. she's doing the civil thing; allowing him to come in while the storm passes. it wouldn't be worth it to traverse in it, holy being or otherwise. so, in doing the nice thing, lucy demanded alex to come in, even if it is for a little while.
it feels right, deep down, though lucy would repress those certain feelings. her hand brushes against his when she sits the coffee mug in front of him, her fingertips warm against his skin. lucy should feel worse about leading him on, about teasing him like this, but it's just in her nature. she's always thought about what it'd be like if...if she hadn't betrayed him. if she would have stayed his favorite. if there wasn't any bad blood between them. hell, she even wondered what it'd be like if they were both human and not stuck with all this baggage.
the side of lucy's knee presses into alex's, the connection between them narrowed down to that one point. she's acutely aware of the sound of rain pouring down outside. it sounds like a flood out there, lucy idly thinks, though it's just her trying to relax. she feels warmer than usual. if it were a fever, of which it could be, then she could deal with it. this warmth is more-- no, she doesn't want to think it. alex has been babbling on about something (she thinks it's a job) but she hasn't been listening. instead, she's been staring at him intensely, almost predatory. it's only when he stops and stares back at her that lucy moves, her hand pressing to the side of his face. his mouth is softer than she imagined (not that she'd imagined this, heavens no!)-- but then again, he's always been the softer of the two of them. her weight settles into his lap, alex's arms instinctively settling around her waist. she wants to bite, she wants to claw, she wants to hurt him the way he hurt her. instead, she softens into his touch, deepening the kiss.
lucy only breaks it when she thinks it's right, her forehead pressing against his. still, she can't look him in the eye. she's supposed to be everything bad and evil in this world; she can't-- she can't hurt alex again. she's trying her best to avoid that. really, she is! it's just hard when she runs on pure instinct. she bites down at her lip, finally looking him in the eye. there's a hesitance in her question when she asks--
" do you want to stay the night? "
