To be fair I don’t think it was ever actually identified as Flamel’s cross within the show or manga but everyone seems to know it as that given its clear inspiration from the tomb of Nicholas Flamel. (And/or The Mirror of Alchimy, depending on how deep down the rabbit hole you assume Arakawa went.)

For additional nerd points my root pseud on AO3 is trismegistus, aka ‘thrice-great’, a title attributed the author of The Emerald Table as well as others, and my currently-used pseud/writer’s blog is ‘scriveyner’ the Olde spelling of the job of the aforementioned Nicholas Flamel, because why the fuck not.

Hey thanks for this! I don’t know how long ago this was posted because it’s been a long damn time since I’ve had xigspicelatte lmao. I’ve definitely learned a lot since then and def don’t conflate the two as often as I used to.
