🔲 Best Friend
A grin appears on Sona’s face the moment he’s mentioned. Her best friend - one of the only people she truly considers a friend in the first place - basically means more to her than anyone else. She’s not sure where to start, aware of how she simply can’t tell the inquirer about how they really met, but… she can adjust the story, should adjust the story so her love for the male becomes obvious. “Jackson Wang…” She starts, no further explanation given. Words are hard when there’s so much going on at once. “Or should I just claim his daughter’s my best friend..? I mean- she calls me Mama…” she laughs happily, it’s obvious why people tend to think she and Jackson are a couple. There’s a small group in their linguistics course who have been trying to get them to confess to one another. “It sounds weird, right? A boy and a girl, just friends without any type of benefits? But it does happen… Jackson’s my classmate, we had to work together on a presentation and ever since then… we’ve been inseparable?” she smiles sheepishly. “I mean- I moved across town basically, just to move into the apartment next to his. I guess you could say he’s one of the few people I trust more with my life than I’d truly trust myself, I don’t need to talk to him to communicate.. Fuck I sound mushy. He’s the one who gave me my favourite plushy.. And I somehow struggle to sleep without it right now. It sounds dumb, given that I’m ‘too old for stuffed animals,” she quotes the air, “but it’s the cutest and he gave it to me so it’s special. I’m really glad I’ve gotten the chance to meet him and that he’s still there for me after all the times I called him at three in the morning to come bring me food or fix my blankets or anything. And I’m really grateful for all the times he’s helped me with schoolwork, and when he brings Jacqui along to watch Disney movies… Have I already mentioned that she calls me mama? Because she does… I guess that’s why people in my building tend to consider us a couple..” She extends her hand over her head before she rubs the back of her neck. “It sounds cliché, but I honestly have no clue what to do without him anymore.”
