What do you think Abe, William, Damien, Celine and Molly would do pre-mark’s party if they had knowledge about what was going to happen at the party and everything afterwards in the upside down post-party?
I've always interpreted WKM as like the reason we have no choice is because it was ALWAYS going to end in tragedy.
That being said, I'm considering the fact it seems to be heavily implied the sort of main friend group hadn't seen each other since the affair. Meaning, they all somehow glean this information individually.
Abe's perspective finally shifts, and he's actually turning his suspicions to Mark. But what's tripping him up is the supernatural element of it all (throughout WKM, he really does not seem to open to the idea of the occult holding any weight).
William's heartbroken and maybe even a bit spiteful and angry. The way he hesitates to go in at the beginning of WKM tells me he had been encouraging himself to go and maybe patch things up for FOREVER. And that bastard risked everyone's lives for a cowardly form of revenge, no sense of true confrontation.
Damien's having a hard time believing Mark would do such a thing and is trying to chalk everything up to a much more rational and simple explanation. Celine, in the meanwhile, is trying to gather everyone up before the party to talk things through and ensure Mark's plan doesn't come to fruition. But there's a lot of high tension, heavy emotions, and skepticism here.
Molly's purely & utterly horrified by it all. The fact that her feelings about the manor were true, how closely she came to a painful death and even more painful existence after death.
With this Abe & Will are still butting heads (Mostly from knowing one of them killed the other). Celine is trying to have Damien listen to reason and unfortunately it's up to the one person who's not technically "a part" of the friend group to calm everyone down. Because while Molly is very nearly petrified by this situation, the fact all of them could die simply because they were too busy arguing is all the more horrifying.
I think eventually, she'd get everyone to listen to reason enough. But the fact is, simply not showing up won't stop Mark. Especially if he's already gone to these lengths. Celine would want to banish the Entity from the grounds if not to have the peace of mind they would all be safe.
But to do that, they'd all have to walk into the lion's den and play their parts for the night as to not gain suspicion from Mark.
I think this would all surmount to a kind of heist-like ghost hunt with essentially a bunch of Clue characters. Damien would still try to see if he could subtly persuade Mark into forgiveness. William is trying to keep his hostility at a minimum, but dealing with Mark & Abe all night is proving that to be surmountingly difficult. Celine is sneaking around the manor to try to find the heart of this thing, on and off having to borrow Molly which would involve some hijinks of her continously excusing herself from the party/Mark and the party needing to aid her to do so. As well as everyone trying to hide the fact that Celine's in the manor. I think Molly overall, though, would kind of have an A Gentleman's Guide to Love & Murder gag (watch any performance of I've Decided to Marry You from that musical, you will not be disappointed) throughout the whole thing with attempting to mediate the Colonel & Abe, helping Abe in further investigations, trying to get time in with Dames as well as getting him to accept that Mark is too far gone, & the supernatural stuff (The Entity is still after her on top of all this)
I unfortunately do not know where to go from here, hope it's satisfying for your ask tho! :P
