MY FAVORITE BIG FELLA!!! HE'S SUCH A GOOFY GUY!!! still in pawgress, but the idle loop is done!
my first of the tengen toppa gunmen at this resolution....what a lot of work, but oh so rewarding. can't wait to do it another 13 times. tiny baby sprite for comparison under the cut
following my trend, i had to size up super galaxy gurren lagann and cathedral lazengann. never talk to me or my evil twin again
old sprites under the cut for funsies. i know i've said i like working at a smaller resolution and it's true that it's fun, but oh it's hard to beat how satisfying it is to finish a big sprite like this with so much gorgeous detail
swear to god i'll do something other than keep remaking the same few sprites BUT for now i decided i want gunmen of the same relative scale (e.g. ordinary gunmen / dai-guns / space gunmen / tengen toppa gunmen) to be to scale amongst themselves and my last gurren and lagann were a bit too big. so i fixed em up and while i was at it, might as well make an updated gurren lagann. SUCH an impurrovement from my first one.
wing under the cut as well as previous sprites for comparison
da three stooges
the secret real reason why i wanted to remake gurren was specifically to have the components to make these goofsters
So this is something I've been really really excited to start!! I've decided to give low poly modeling a shot using Blockbench. This was my first attempt, and I left it unfinished because somewhere along the process the texture mapping got wonky. But I wanted to share it anyway because I'm still really pleased with it! It feels amazing to have as much fun making art as I did with this, it's been a long long time since I've felt that way
Biggie and Smalls. Fatboy and Slim. Bert and Ernie. Fanboy and Chum Chum.
