it's hard but not impossible, im moving there in the fall/winter, got no job or place lined up, but i have a car and some money saved and im resourceful
dude that’s like... something i am incapable of doing, it’s just not in my programming, i sit here and i read your sentences and i think how??? like i can “wing it” on homework and presentations and vacation travel, but not when it comes to life events u know? when i imagine packing up and moving cross-country with nothing waiting for me over there, the only outcome i see is me moving back home w my tail btw my legs like 3mo later lmao

I loved living in LA despite all of the above being pains in my ass as well. You really can't beat that weather year-round, it's pretty much gorgeous all day every day. But it's also painfully expensive (not that NYC isn't) and there are certain things about living there that will always make it feel like a place you are visiting, not living.
i totally get that. im not sure if i would be able to do anything in LA other than visit... the few times i’ve been there it never felt like a city that was made for living, just like for being a tourist, haha. probably just because i only saw the tourist bits ofc. i’d probably go to SF or sonoma county because of family. i’ve also got family in the san joaquin valley but i’ve been there so often i know i probably don’t want to live near them, lol.

ik someone who's moving to LA w his gf this month and is in the same exact situation as the guy you know, he's lived in Chicago his whole life and I'm like ??? how
anyway if cali wasn't so expensive id be so down for the weather (bc the winters are the only thing I hate about chicago) guess I gotta move back to barcelona sjdkfjn
yeah same about the cost of living. like... i do okay in new york, after two years i have managed some semblance of a savings account, somehow, and maybe in ten years when i’m more financially stable i could feel confident packing up and moving cross country with nothing lined up, but now... (also wait we’re talking about how expensive it is in ca and you’re talking about moving to europe???? girl)
@st4r-boy:
But we have Hollywood and basically every event? So,,,for example,, if you want to watch the Oscars you can finish them at a reasonable time unlike when watching in other time zones!
i don’t actually watch much tv or live events tbh. mostly it’d just irritate me that i can’t talk to my friends in european time zones as often lol.
