PAUL INSECT
Paul Insect Reflective Minds Allouche Gallery NYC
Great show of new work by Paul Insect. In this show he is experimenting with new styles and flat treatments along with his signature hand painted moire dots that make up the eyes of the figures. He even had a whole fruit bowl of eyes. Cool show to check out, most of the best work is all sold. Through October 8.
What’s unique about this exhibit is that many of the paintings are actually 3-D installation boxes instead of the traditional flat canvas we’re more accustomed to seeing. All cut and painted by hand. Swoon has a real talent for capturing the spirit of her muses and translating them back to us via wheat paste and cardboard.
“To Accompany Something Invisible” By Swoon HQ. On Display Between: 4.27.17 - 5.21.17
