A quick guided tour of my 50ltr aquarium.
Just after feeding time
The rescape of the Fishpod is complete. Just installed a polishing pad into the #allpondsolutions Ef150 so it should be crystal clear by tomorrow (at Fishkeeping on a budget) https://www.instagram.com/p/CLNL38HpL6q/?igshid=1a3amelymig1x
As my final part of the upgrade to the 50l, I'm ordering two different Anubias spp. from #allpondsolutions. The other addition will be a rock to replace the Coconut cave. (at Fishkeeping on a budget) https://www.instagram.com/p/CHnFOZ9JcdQ/?igshid=ggs92pp13sa7
Think I've just about got this set up perfectly now. The #allpondsolutions Ef150 does a superb job of maintaining the aquarium and the plants n fish are doing swimmingly (joke) thanks to the ferts and CO2 The final additions to the ecosystem are: 1) A few Malaysian Trumpet Snails to aerate the substrate 2) A few Ramshorn Snails to deal with detritus and algae. 3) A colony of Scuds for algae eating, getting rid of excess food and because they are soooo cute! I'm aware that these critters CAN become pests but doubt that this will happen as the limiting factor to reproduction is availability of food and there's never a massive amount of waste in here. The newcomers are mainly to make the tank more of an ecosystem as opposed to just an aquarium. (at Fishkeeping on a budget) https://www.instagram.com/p/CErc-AuDKAx/?igshid=1euinks15krpq
The latest hydroponic experiment: This Honeydew Melon has got 5" of roots and has been growing in a jar dosed with EI liquid. Now it's in its final home next to the #allpondsolutions internal filter where it will get a good supply of moving water and CO2 (at Fishkeeping on a budget) https://www.instagram.com/p/CEejdR_JH0m/?igshid=12dophxz35bak
It's taken a while but I've finally got the CO2 and filtration perfectly set up. The #allpondsolutions ef150 creates a beautiful circular current ensuring crystal clear water with no dead spots. I've put a little arrow on the CO2 needle valve to ensure its dialled in exactly the same after maintenace. Happy Fishkeeper.
