Everybody has a history of sacrifices, whether large or small. What’s one of the most painful sacrifices your character has made and how does it affect them today? How has their sacrifice influenced them?
((loooook I’m finally catching up on asks!!))
Zaytu fidgets nervously. “I ah…. umm…” he rubs the back of his neck as he looks to the ground. “I ah, I d-don’t know if this r-really counts but ah… I umm…” his cheeks turns red as he kicks the dirt, “When I was a kit I ah, I wasn’t allowed to have any friends. But then my family got snowed in, they ah, they were traveling merchants and ah, W-well we got snowed in and we had to stay with the snowstride family.” Zay’s ears flutter slightly as he continued to look at the ground, his cheeks growing more and more redder by the second. “That’s when I met Allriayan, or Allen as most know him today. Umm well He was my first real f-friend and ah we did everything together for that winter. B-but then the pass was cleared and w-we ah had to leave.” He pauses, biting his lip. “I, ah, I didn’t want to leave. I ah… I actually packed my bags and um… I hid, I d-didn’t even tell Allen. I wanted to s-stay…” By now his hands had began to shake. “b-but, ah… M-my b-brother found me…. H-he g-gave me a choice. G-go w-with the f-family o-or w-watch h-him k-kill Allen and his f-family.” tears began to drip from his chin. “I chose to go with my family. K-knowing that H-he’d never let me g-get close to anyone else e-ever again.” Zaytu let’s out a small sigh. “B-but I knew Allen and his family would be safe if I left. S-so I did. I… I ah, I didn’t see Allen a-again for a-another th-thirteen years. I w-was alone f-for most of that t-too.
A faint smile peaks at the corners of his mouth, “But that’s in the past now. Now I’m mates with two awesome people, Allen and Marty, and they both dealt with my brother so I don’t have to be afraid of him anymore. I, I still have a lot of issues but Both of them are helping me learn to interact with others better and to learn to let myself love them and how to let them love me.” Zay nods absently to himself. “It was hard to be alone for so long, but I’d sacrifice anything to protect both my mates. I love them.” He grins cheekily before poking his tongue out and bolting in the other direction.
