14 - kiss along the hips

When he finally came back up for air, she was barely breathing. He kissed the inside of her thigh and she exhaled a breath she hadn’t even known she’d been holding; her fingers released the sheets of his bed and she ran a hand through her hair, laughing a little.

"Where did you learn how to do that?" Cora breathed, propping herself up on her elbows as she looked at him. “Because that was…" she trailed off, her eyes glazing over; no amount of words could describe how he’d made her feel.

Isaac smirked, pressing his lips to her hip, then to the other. “I’ll take that as a compliment," he murmured.

corsaac, cora has a nightmare.

Cora shot up in bed, her chest heaving and her skin covered in a thin sheen of sweat as her eyes flickered wildly around the dark room; it had been the same nightmare she’d always had, about being trapped in that burning house, about how she’d failed to save her family… Tears stung at her eyes, and suddenly arms were around her, and she leaned against his chest, fighting back the urge to cry.

"Everything’s going to be okay. You were just having a bad dream," Isaac said softly, his voice soothing. She wrapped her hand around his and squeezed, grateful for the fact that he was always there when she needed him most.

Eye of the Storm

A Cora/Isaac Drabble. Requested by allsonlahey.

"Too soon?" Cora tried and failed at suppressing the grin that was pushing its way onto her face as the title card for Vacancy appeared on the television screen and Isaac plucked the remote out of her hand.

"About ten centuries too soon, yeah," he told her, shaking his head. "You really need to work on your filter."

Cora smirked, shrugging as she pulled the bowl of popcorn into her lap. "I can't help it." She admitted, popping a piece of popcorn into her mouth. "Derek says I was born without one."

"I believe it," Isaac replied.

"You're not supposed to agree!" Cora protested, tossing a handful of popcorn at him.

He made a noise of protest and shielded himself with his forearm. "Well, you're not supposed to choose movies about creepy motels when I was just in one." Isaac shot back, dodging flying pieces of the buttery snack. "Cora, I swear to God- Cora- Cora, stop!"

She just laughed as she continued to pelt him with popcorn, until he tackled her onto the couch, knocking the bowl over onto the floor. He pinned her hands over her head, giving her a stern look.

"Is someone mad?" Cora asked, raising an eyebrow innocently.

"No," Isaac replied, exhaling heavily and shaking his head, a few pieces of popcorn dislodging themselves from his hair. She snickered. "If I was, though, I'd probably kick you out for being such a nuisance."

Cora pressed her lips together. "You wouldn't," she challenged.

He pretended to consider it for a long moment, then released her and straightened up again. He shrugged. "Yeah, you're probably right," he told her, handing her the remote. "Now pick a more appropriate movie."

"What if I don't feel like watching a movie anymore?" She placed the remote on the coffee table in front of her, curling up on the couch next to him. Something in her demeanor had changed suddenly; she wasn't the same, prank-pulling, teasing teenage girl she was before.

It was as though the idea of her being asked to leave - being asked to spend the night alone - would've affected her more than she let on.

"You are impossible," Isaac told her, shaking his head with a laugh. This whole 'movie night' thing had been her idea, after all. "What do you want to do, then?"

Cora shrugged, leaning against him as he put his arm around her. "Just... sit. Enjoy eachother's company for a little while," she said with a sigh, shutting her eyes as she listened to his heartbeat. "After everything that's happened, we deserve a night to relax, you know?"

Isaac found himself nodding. "Of course," he agreed, running his fingers through her hair. "Anything sounds better than watching the movie you did pick."

She made a face and punched him in the side, muttering something that sounded a lot like "Shut up." But he didn't release her; she inched closer, focusing so intently on the sound of his heart beating that she managed to forget the world and its problems. Just for a moment.
