Algy remembers the end-of-year Gray Card Top 5 extravaganza very well, and he was sad when it ended, so he is thrilled that @luxlit are continuing that tradition now.

Algy found it extremely difficult to select five posts from his 2024 adventures, even with the help of his assistant… However, as he had to make a choice, he did, as he would hate to miss out on the fun…

He sends his warmest thanks and fluffy hugs to @luxlit and his good friend Fern @allthingsfern for continuing this lovely tradition and for all the work and effort it involves 🤗

This time, Fern @allthingsfern and Pete @tvoom are not alone. We have a special guest: Stephi @stephiramona / @ramonasphotos

And this time, we go deep. Photography - like all forms of art - is communication. But it's more than communicating to and with an audience. It is also communication of the photographer with their photos. During the actual photographic process and afterwards.

As you all know, Pete (and also Fern a little bit) love to communicate. But this time, we will (at least try to) be more silent and let our wonderful guest share her thoughts, experiences and ideas.

We are thrilled to have the endlessly creative Stephi on the stream with us.

Photography burnout, creative blocks, and all that jazz. Nasty stuff, right? How to overcome? We might have some thoughts.

We also might talk about gear. Mirrrorless (because Fern shoots mirrorless) vs. DSLR (because Pete still shoots DSLR). And maybe even Full Frame (because that is what Fern fancies) vs. Crop-Sensor (because Pete is still going the APS-C route). We will not be talking about Sony vs Canon. Who are we kidding? Of course, we will. (Btw. this video is not sponsored by anyone) We didn’t ;) because... time...

Buying new cameras. And buying new gear And what to have in mind when doing so. We will also talk about how this might (or even inevitably WILL?) affect our photography. Or how we hope it will. Since Fern shoots Sony full-frame mirrrorless and Pete still rides the Canon crop-sensor DSLR train, we have two pretty different viewpoints. Or do we?
