Chapter 5 title: Sneaking Glances

Chapter 5 word count: 3,399 -> Total story word count: 16,719

Chapter 5 summary:

“Gon’s—Gon’s not my friend,” Killua insists. “He’s just an acquaintance.”

“Acquaintances don’t sneak glances at each other all night.”

Killua suddenly has the urge to get as far away from Alluka as possible. “I have not been sneaking glances at him the whole night! And neither has he!”

“How would you know?” she challenges. “You two just happen to never look at each other at the same time!”

This is one of my favorite chapters in this fic! There were just a lot of really fun moments to write between Gon and Killua.

I wanted to say thank you again to everyone reading this fic!!! It’s been such a joy reading all your thoughts on each new chapter and I can’t wait to see what you think about future scenes ^-^ and thank you again to @cyberflamingo for beta-ing! Chapter 4 title: Appetizers and Desserts

Chapter 4 word count: 4,228 -> Total story word count: 13,319

Chapter 4 summary:

“What are you doing at the grocery store?” Gon asks with a tilt of his head.

“I’m picking up dessert for my sister. Her birthday party is coming up and I promised I would bring something.” Killua glances at Gon’s empty basket. “What about you? Are you just doing general grocery shopping?”

“For the most part, yeah. I told my friend I would make appetizers for his girlfriend’s get together, so that’s the real reason I’m here. But I might as well get some stuff I’m missing at home, right?”

So this chapter (and the next) focuses on Alluka’s birthday! I know we don’t know Alluka’s official birthday but I headcanon it as November 11, so that’s what time of the year it is at this point in the fic. Gon and Killua met in September so they’ve known each other for about 2 months now.

Chapter 5 will be posted next Sunday with the preview on Thursday! Chapter title is ‘Sneaking Glances’. Can you guess who will be sneaking glances at who lol?
