Seriously, the killing of a family member is such a massive taboo in most societies that it’s hard to believe it wouldn’t be in Rigel as well, and not everyone is gonna believe that Alm had no idea that Rudolf was his father when he dealt the killing blow. Oh, sure, get him in place to kill Duma, and don’t take into account the fact that an act of combined regicide and patricide might earn Alm more enemies than friends by people who decide that a new king who came to the throne with the blood of his own father on his hands isn’t worth following.
