This picture was taken just after we were pronounced Mr & Mrs. We’re both smirking in this picture for a simple reason. The amount of adversity we faced when we’re dating and engaged was astounding. A group of people who we no longer speak to (unfortunately still related to one of them) tried to break us up. We were told our relationship wouldn’t survive if we weren’t surrounded by “healthy couples”. They were referring to themselves. The night before our wedding, we were told that the person who said this to us was getting a 2nd divorce. We now have an inside joke when we toast, “To healthy couples!” In this picture we didn’t need to say it. We were both thinking it.
