I was wondering what steps one needs to take in order to become the legal guardian of another citizen.

This isn’t really the area of police, but it would depend on several conditions, wouldn’t it? Such as the special needs of the child or how well the prospective guardian can provide for them.

New guardians would at least need a steady income and a proper home life. Background check on both sides would be necessary too in order to make sure the guardian is qualified and to ensure there is nothing more than adoption going on. I believe they may have some age restrictions in place as well but again, this isn’t our area.

Why don’t you ask the Mayor himself, about this? He is about the closest to a regular government worker you can find. His standards are crazily low too, I bet it will go through.
