Alone

We visited the place where I used to live. You said to me, “This place is strange And I wouldn’t sleep here a single night Not alone, not with you.” It wouldn’t be so strange if You painted the walls a color you like, If you let your voice bounce off every corner, If you spent some time and listened to the silence, If you remembered the stories of my childhood memories. When I’m with you, I remember the nights I spent here Alone and feeling strange Even so, I’d rather Spend eternal nights here All alone, not with you.
