“And what kind of interesting things do you mean?” Her eyebrows raise a bit, hoping it wasn’t about the other want to get on another hunt.

Hekate was at a visible discomfort by Mania’s presence, clutching the infant gently to her chest. A careful hand resting at its head, ensuring that the newborn didn’t even avert its eyes upon her. ❝ I distinctly remember telling you that I don’t WANT you here near the children, ❞ she forewarned, anger gleaming in her eyes. Normally, she didn’t have anything against Mania. They were both in touch with the spirits, but the goddess had a tendency of upsetting the babies. A harbinger of bad luck and mental instability. ❝ What is so important that it cannot wait until I’m OFF duty. ❞ She needed her gone. Away from the children and away from their psyche.

“Welcome to The Salvatore Boarding School for the Young & Gifted.” Caroline spoke, standing in front of the door. She just happened to see the girl, and seeing as she was on the property she felt like being welcoming. “I’m Caroline.”
Baby-Steps/ A Daughters Loss
About six months ago, I lost my mother.
Someone I would have said defined who I was, and whom I lived my life for.
Someone that if they called me, I would stop wherever I was in life and talk to for two hours about nothing at all.
Which to me is weird, because I am not all that interested in small talk, yet with her, nothing could get old.
Nothing, from the long talk and drives we would take in the middle of the night when you needed to talk.
Or the tasteful dishes you would prepare for every meal.
Or maybe it was the way you bright light into my life when everything seemed so dark.
I can’t even begin to explain how deep my hurt was and still is-
never will it go away, for I will learn to become used to the feeling.
But even though you aren’t here, I just wanted to tell you-
I made it through classes this quarter, and I am learning to be okay in the moment.
I just have to keep telling myself,
baby steps first.
