Been a busy year, what with getting back into riding after my hip injury in late 2023, my wedding last month, my brother-in-law breaking his wrist in three places, but I'm back with a bit of a bang and some steam in my engine, so let's see where it goes.
New chapter to my fic titled, "Anything Is Unbreakable Until You Test It" over on AO3.
It's a Thiam (Theo Raeken/Liam Dunbar) centric fic set a few years post-series with a light touch of Omegaverse that centers around the friends to strangers to lovers trope. It will be Explicit in later chapters with smut, however there is none yet.

As always, let me know what you think in comments on AO3 or here. I love chatting with people about my fics.
Hope you guys have fun reading.
summary: After Brett and Y/N they talk on their way back.
SORRY IT’S SO SHORT
Part 1
Part 6
“Yeah but now we have to get back to your car so let me rest.” You rolled your eyes before starting to climb back towards your car, he could catch up to you. You pulled yourself up the face of a ten foot ledge to see Brett looking down at you.
“Need a hand?” He reach out and grabbed you, almost single handedly pulling you up. His hair was still wet and it dripped on you when he pulled you towards him so you didn’t tip off the cliff. His face was barely an inch from your and you were so distracted by his eyes that you didn’t notice the water dripping down from his hair.
You felt the change start to happen before you ended up falling onto him face first and your lips brushed against his.
“If you wanted to kiss me Y/N all you had to do was ask.” He was smirking at you as you were frozen in place embarrassed. “Alright it’s fine I was just kidding but you are super heavy so could you mind not crushing my ribcage?”
“Sorry,” You rolled off him only to have to dry yourself off again. You stood up and walked away from that awkward moment. You were almost to the car just a few more yards.
“Hey wait up did I do something?”
“Look Brett I really don’t need you to be all sympathetic to me because I’m the new girl. I’ve been the new girl enough times to be able to deal with it on my own.” You opened the door of your car, “Plus I can probably do a lot better without you.” You added in a huff under your breath.
You jumped when you heard a phone go off Brett reached in the passenger side and answered it.
“Hello? No Coach. I’m sorry, I’ll be there soon I had some personal issues to deal with. Yes coach I understand.” He hung up the phone before getting in the vehicle beside you. “Can you drop me off at the school?”
You turned the car on and headed back the way you came, slightly faster than before because he had to go and make everything uncomfortable for you.
“So hey Y/N have you ever been to a Lacrosse game?” He was rubbing his hands against his thighs almost like he was trying to dry them off.
“No,”
“Well there's this scrimmage against a local high school tonight maybe you could come support the team.”
“And why do I want to do that? I’m not a sports fan.”
“Well most of the school will be there, and Lori as well maybe you could keep an eye on her.”
“Oh so now you want me to babysit your sister?”
“No, no nothing like that. It’s just she um… she really likes you and has been asking me to let her hang out with you.”
“This sounds like a set up.”
“Stop being stubborn and just come you’ll enjoy it I promise.”
You pulled up to the front of Devenford Prep and he got out and ran inside.
“I’ll see you at the game!” he yelled over his shoulder at you before letting the door close behind him.
Summary: After going out you have to next day but you don't know what it has in store for you
Warnings: truancy
Part 1
Part 5
You woke up a few hours later to see your clock reading that it was a little after six. You got out of bed and went to the bathroom to draw a bath.
You quietly got ready for the rest of the day doing your usual morning routine. You packed your bag before heading downstairs in your school uniform. You went to the kitchen to grab some food before you drove to Devenford Prep.
You walked into your classes without say many words to anybody. You felt little pieces of yourself breaking inside you missed your friends so much. This had to be the hardest move you’ve had in a long time because you lost all the people you trusted. As you walked down the halls you felt tears welling in your eyes. You hadn’t made it through the entire day before finding yourself sitting in an empty classroom crying again.
It was so stupid of you to get attached to him so quickly but once you found out he shared a secret like yours it was hard not to. You grabbed a tissue from a box on the front desk and dried your face and put another fake smile on before going back into the hallway. Your next class was your advanced calculus class with Brett and you were determined not to let him see you like that.
You took an empty seat near the windows that had a friendly looking kid who was digging through his bag. You really didn’t care all you cared was that is wasn’t Brett.
You went through class before you got up and made your way out.
You went the opposite direction of the rest of the students to give yourself some space. Once you rounded the corner you leaned against the wall letting out a heavy breath. You pulled your phone out hopeful to see any messages from your friends in Australia but there wasn’t anything. You tucked your phone into the inside pocket you kept it in.
You looked up to see the last person you wanted to see today.
“What’s wrong with you?” He didn’t even sugar coat anything before asking you the question.
“Nothing I’m fine.” You tried to walk away but he followed you down the empty walkway.
“Something's off I can tell.”
“You barely know me and you made it very clear last night how you felt.” You reached into your bag grabbing your keys with every intention of leaving school with no explanation.
“I can smell it,” You turned around and looked at him because of what he said.
“What the hell? Smell me?”
“Look Y/N people give off these things called chemo signals, they’re attached to your emotion. I can smell all the distress you’re in.” You opened your back seat to toss your bag in before turning towards him.
“Well thank you for telling me that I can’t hide much from you but you were clear last night.” You slammed the back door of your car.
“Y/N?” You opened the driver's seat and got in without another word. “Y/N!” You started the car and put it into reverse before having to hit the brakes because Brett was blocking you in.
You rolled down the window so you could yell at him but when you looked in your rearview mirror only to see he was gone.
You jumped when you heard the passenger side door open.
“Get the hell out of my car Talbot.” You turned to see him fastening his seatbelt. “You know what fine.”
You drove off to the one place you knew would clear your mind. It took a long and quiet twenty minutes before you stopped your car near the bluffs.
You didn’t say a word to Brett before you left the car and leapt from the edge. You heard Brett yelling before you plunged into the waves. You stayed under for a few seconds before surfacing. You opened your eyes to see a figure falling from the bluff above before they plunged between the rocks.
“Brett!” You went back under and swam over to make sure he was okay. He was just floating there not trying to surface. You grabbed him around the waist before hauling him above the waves. You could hear him breathing but he seemed to have knocked himself unconscious amongst the rock. “Brett I need you to wake up.” You couldn’t do much more than keep him above the water without any nearby beach. “Please Brett.”
You kept trying to wake him as you kept him afloat without sinking.
What felt like an eternity later Brett gasped for air and started thrashing around.
“Brett calm down, calm down.” You let go of him and he turned around to face you in the water. His eyes were unusually red this time he transformed you didn't know what it meant but you knew it has to mean something.
“Brett why are your eyes red?”
“What do you mean red? Like puffy red or glowing red?”
“They’re glowing red, bright red.”
“If my eyes are red that’s the sign of an Alpha. I can’t be an alpha.”
“Brett what do you mean?”
“We need to go find Sitomi.”
“Well I to get us out of here first, how are you at swimming?”
“Why?”
“Because mr I jumped off a cliff we’re about a mile from a beach unless you fancy trying to carry me with my heavy tail up that cliff.”
“What have I got myself into.” You grabbed his hand and wrapped his arms around your shoulders.
“Hold your breath and hold on tight.” You dipped underneath the water and swam at top speed. You found a small opening to a sandy beach. You reached the shore and Brett let go of you and rolled onto the sand.
“That was…” You rolled onto your back and started to laugh at him. “How can you swim so fast?”
“I’m a mermaid, of course I can swim fast.” You started to dry off and not before long you stood up to be able to peer down at him lying in the sand. “I thought you wanted to go find someone?”
Summary: Brett decides to take you on an adventure and things get a little intense
Warnings: Underage drinking and some kissing
Part 1
Part 4
He pulled you into his car and started to drive off.
“Are you going to tell me where we are going or are you just going to kidnap me?” You put your seatbelt on before looking over at him.
“You can dance right?” He grinned at your lack of response as he drove off.
A short while later Brett parked his car in front of an old looking wearhouse.
“Come on trust me.” He had climbed out of the car and was gesturing you to get out as well. You got out and he reached over and grabbed your hand before pulling you along.
He walked up to a door and knocked
A guy about 25ish opened the door and looked at you and Brett.
“Hey Phil!” Brett handed him a wad of cash and Phil nodded. Brett grinned at him as he let you both pass inside.
“Welcome to Sinema.” Phil managed to shout over the music as he passed you both into the club. The lights shone and illuminated all the young adults dancing around the club some maybe not adults yet.
“I’m gonna grab us something to drink.” He let go your hand and was swallowed up by the crowd instantly. You decided to venture further into the club if Brett needed to find you he could track you he was a werewolf after all.
You looked around and you could see that there were guys dancing on girl as well as other guys and visa versa. You walked around and someone approached you and started to dance with you, he was pretty good looking but you felt a little bad about coming with Brett and dancing with someone else, then again you weren’t sure Brett was actually interested in you.
“Y/N!” You turned around to see Brett holding a few shot glasses at a standing table. You quickly excused yourself to make your way over to him.
“So Y/N, Bottoms up.” he handed you the shot and you drank it quickly. The liquor burned a little as you swallowed it. You let out a cough after you finished it and you saw Brett smirking at you.
“I don’t drink a lot.” You had to lean closer to him to make sure he could hear you.
“You’ll be fine okay trust me.” he leaned down to say that into your ear accidently brushing his lips, you felt the heat rising to your cheeks. “Wolves can’t get drunk so I can drive us home.” You grabbed another shot and drank it quickly so that he might assume the color in your cheeks was from the drinks.
Once Brett finished his last drink and pulled you onto the dance floor. With his good looks he was quickly surrounded with guys and girls alike but he seemed to keep a focus on you. You were letting yourself get distracted by all the fun you were having and almost didn’t notice when someone spilled a drink on you.
You pushed yourself through all the people and behind a curtain before your tail appeared. You fell onto the floor and you saw a body coming up from the shadows on the curtain and you cloaked yourself. You tried to move yourself out of the main walking path but a heavy tail and no legs made it difficult.
“Y/N?” You looked over to see Brett. You quickly uncloaked yourself so he could see you. You gave him a look as he took you in while in your mermaid form, when you transformed all your clothes disappeared and you had your ‘top’ scales that were basically a bikini top.
“A little help please.” He walked over and grasped your hands to help drag you further back into a more secluded area.
“So this is what you look like?” He crouched down so he was looking at you face to face.
“Here move back quickly.” You used your powers to heat up all the water on your skin to dry yourself off. He just watched you with curiosity as you used your powers. When you dried off your tail disappeared and yours clothes were back just as they were before you got wet.
“Wow that was amazing.” He offered you his hand and helped you off the floor. You stumbled a little when you stood up his arms quickly wrapped around you to keep you from falling. “Are you okay Y/N?” You looked up at his face and you started to laugh uncontrollably.
“Sorry I think I might have drank too much.” He let out a cute little laugh before taking his hands off your waist.
“Well at least you’re a happy drunk.” He grabbed your hand and started to pulling you into the crowds of people you kinda lost track of where you were going before you felt the cool night air hit your face.
“Are we leaving already?”
“Y/N it’s like 3 am and we have school tomorrow I need to get you home.” He brought you to his car and helped you inside making sure your seatbelt was on.
He climbed in and started the car, you decided to fiddle with the radio as he drove. You would look in the side mirror to see him stealing glances at you. You let your head rest against the seat as you fell asleep in his car.
You woke up as Brett was grabbing you out of the car to carry you inside. You wrapped your arms around his neck and let your head lean against his chest.
“I didn’t mean to wake you up.” He whispered to you as he went towards your front door.
“I could’ve walked to my own room.” He managed to open the door before carrying you in the dark to your room. He set you on the bed before you looked up at him.
“Thanks.” You grabbed his hand and pulled him to sit on the bed.
“Hey it’s not like I could’ve kidnapped you.” He pushed your hair from your face.
“No thanks for tonight and well everything today I was so afraid to be alone. Then I found you and even if you were an ass you were still pretty considerate.”
“Hey we all got secrets.” Your mind wasn’t exactly working at full speed so you acted before you thought it through and leaned up to kiss Brett on the lips gently. He hesitated before he pulled you closer to him to kiss you deeper.
You both pulled apart and you could see his eyes shining yellow before he closed then and they turned green again.
“You need to sleep.” He started to get up and leave the room but you used your moon ring to close the door before he could reach it.
“So do you.” You moved over on your bed so he would have space.
“I really don’t think…” You interrupted him by trying to use your moon ring power to pull him towards you by controlling the water in his body but instead it made his eyes glow and he transformed. You heard a low growl come from him as he walked closer to you.
“Your eyes…” He shut his eyes and started to quietly say something.
“The sun… the moon… the truth…” he kept repeating that statement before he opened his eyes again and he had turned back.
“You made me turn.” He looked at you with a mixture of anger and surprise. “Why did you do that?” You stood up and walked closer to him. He took a slight step back when you reached out towards him but you took that as a sign to step away from him.
“I didn’t mean to it must have been the moon ring. Can you just stay please I know it’s odd sense we just meet today and all but I kinda…” You couldn’t find it in your heart to look him in the eyes so you looked down at your hands as you fiddled with the rings.
“Is this your way of telling me you have a crush on me? Because I know I’m gorgeous but most girls run when they find out I’m monster.” This caused your attention to snap to him as you saw a guilty look in his eyes.
“Brett Talbot you are no monster, a jerk maybe, but not a monster.” You reached your hand up to his face and gently touched his face, “You are not a monster, I almost hurt you earlier today and any monster would’ve fought back, you wanted to make sure I was okay. Then in the art room you made sure that I didn’t accidentally change in front of everyone, you barely knew me yet you protected me.” You felt his hand wrap around yours and pull it from his face.
“Look Y/N you being a mermaid must be all rainbows and unicorns but unlike you I have a lot of not so awesome side effects. I can be dangerous if I lose control, I could hurt someone. I could hurt you.” He let go of your hand and left you there standing alone in your dark room.
You waited and listened to the front door closing and the faint hum of an engine as he drove off. You went to your bathroom to grab something to sleep in but all you saw was the makeup that ran down your face with your tears.
You grabbed an old t-shirt before drowning yourself in your blankets. You ended up crying yourself to sleep at god knows what hour. The only thing you were thankful for was the fact that your own tears were the only thing that didn’t trigger your transformation.
It’s been weeks since you’ve last seen Brett. His scent still lingers in the worn fabric of his hoodie, which you’ve been proudly wearing since he gave it to you, despite the fact that you were wearing a Devenford Prep hoodie to your school, BHHS, you loved it.
Your best friend Erica was fully supporting the idea of you dating the 6'2 lacrosse player with the most gorgeous eyes you have ever seen. And honestly, you hoped you would get to see them again.
"We need to set you guys up asap” Erica stated as she sat down at your lunch table.
"I wouldn’t mind it” you laughed, earning a smirk from your other best friend, Isaac.
"Someone’s in looooooove” he teased you, making you blush furiously.
"Oh shush, scarves.” You shot back, laughing as Isaac pouted at his nickname. •••
(Brett’s POV)
(Y/N) had constantly been on your mind since you last saw her…Her radiant smile, her sweet scent of strawberries and mint, the sight of her in your hoodie, it drove you insane…You had to see her again. •••
(Y/N POV)
The news of the Devenford Prep/Beacon Hills rematch quickly spread throughout both schools. Once you heard the news, instantly you had butterflies in your stomach.
"Brett’s going to be there.” You thought excitedly, remembering the last encounter you both had. You checked the date on the calendar, to see if you had anything planned on the day of the game.
"Huh. Just the full moon.” You said nonchalantly. “I can’t wait to see Brett again.” You smiled to yourself. •••
As both teams ran out onto the field at Devenford Prep, you couldn’t help but notice Brett was nowhere to be seen.
"He has to be here…” You said, disappointedly. •••
(Brett’s POV)
Your head pounded, and you could hear your heartbeat speeding up.
"I can’t do this here…not here, not now” You yelled to yourself, your canines, and claws involuntarily extruding.
"GAHHHHHH” you yelled, as the pain of the full moon set in. You could feel your bones shifting, and your inner wolf clawed at you.
"Just give in, Brett. Just do it. It’ll make everything feel better…c'mon Brett…” It screamed. Your head throbbed, and your body ached.
"Three things cannot long be hidden…the sun, the moon, the truth.” You called, trying to regain control. •••
(Y/N POV)
As you walked towards the bathroom, you could hear loud, crashing noises coming from the room down the hallway. Walking closer, you read it was the boys locker room. Timidly, you opened the door, revealing a sudden, eerily quiet room.
"Brett…?” You called, suddenly feeling so small in the large, quiet room. •••
(Brett’s POV)
You slowly turned the knob of the shower, turning on the water, to help with your shift. You could have sworn you heard your name, but you couldn’t tell over the loud, thudding sound of your rising heartbeat, mixed with the sound of the water.
Suddenly, the sickly sweet, familiar scent of strawberries and mint flooded your senses.
"Brett?” You heard again, this time much clearer, followed by a warm touch on your shoulder, that eased every pain in your body, calming you.
(Y/N POV)
"Brett.” You said again.
You watched in anticipation as he slowly turned around, making eye contact with you…his once sparkly, lively green eyes, now a dauntless, fearsome red.
His stare itself made you feel small, and useless. You fell back, crawling into the corner, fearing your life.
You watched as Brett’s crimson red eyes faded back to their normal, piercing green, your heart melted. You could see the regret in his eyes…you stood up, slowly walking towards him.
"I’m sorry…” He started, his voice small, and sympathetic.
"No need for apologies…Just an explanation. What the hell was that?” You laughed.
"I’m a werewolf…” He smiled back.
"Intimidating…but also really hot.” You admitted, making him laugh.
"Is that so?” He asked, now full of confidence.
"Straight truth.” You smiled, as he brought you closer, leaning down, inching closer, and closer to your lips.
The kiss sent sparks throughout your body, you felt on top of the world. You smiled into the kiss, which was full of emotion, and need. You both have been waiting for this moment since you met each other.
As you regretfully pulled away, you smiled again, meeting his eyes once more.
