A little Alpha fluff.

The presence that Kate currently felt was strong meaning it could only be one person. His turquoise aura illuminated the dark bedroom even behind her eye lids. It was then that the tired girl also realized he was staring quite hard; determination radiated from the boys presence. Kate opened her eyes and smiled weakly, “Shouldn’t you be off touring the world or something?”

“Is it wrong that I proper missed you?” Alpha mindlessly played with the embroidery on his cloth belt.

“Let me just inform you that you never just ‘miss me.’ If that were the case our lives would be a lot easier then they have been.” Kate rubbed her hazel eyes tiredly and shifted a bit before lifting up the blanket just a bit. “Are you just going to stand there or what?” Apparently the carpeted floor was more interesting than his girlfriend’s offer because he seemed to studying each and every fiber intricately. “Alpha? Are you okay?”

His shoulders dropped and by the position of his eyes you could sense sadness lingering, “Why do you love him?”

“Excuse me?” Kate pushed herself up so that her back pressed against the endless amount of pillows she hoarded. “Did you really come here to ask me about something that apparently happened centuries ago?” She was agitated now and could feel the heat rise up to the surface; hands clenched tightly around the red bed sheets. “I think you may have forgotten the part where I hardly remember anything from those lives. I literally don’t know how I felt back then, but I do know that I for damn sure do not love Omega.”

The Fire Ghoul’s features seemed to have softened as he realized how foolish he must have sounded, “I’m such a fucking moron,” his footsteps speedily hurried across the small bedroom. No time was wasted – once on the bed he grabbed Kate’s face in his hands and kissed those soft lips of hers. “Want to punch me or something? I’ll let you, love.”

Kate stifled a laugh as she pressed her forehead against Alpha’s, “Are you sure you aren’t like a fairy or something?”

“Why would you ask such a thing, darling?” He genuinely seemed confused by his lover’s accusations.

“I never in my life imagined a demon being as delicate and sensitive as you. It’s sort of amusing, yeah?”

His heart pounded heavily in his chest as he realized how much he had fallen in love with this woman who lay next to him. He knew they’d cross paths again; Papa Emeritus had always promised him that the woman of his dreams would in fact make an appearance. When Alpha was still a young boy and had only just learned of his gifts, the fact of a mate seemed elementary – maybe a bit silly. Now everything Emeritus had ever mentioned was in fact happening and that made the boys heart swell just a bit more.
