Haha. Well. I meant to have the next Alphatale page done before the new year, but I haven't even gotten the backgrounds. All I have are excuses, and only a handful are legitimate. For anyone going "Oh it's fine, I'm sure you have good reasons!", I appreciate you, and I want to make clear that this isn't a matter of being unnecessarily pressured by myself or an audience. This is a very personal story to me that I really want to share, so I'm just disappointed I didn't make the time for it.

I don't have any news or promises to do better in the future, but for anyone who's been actively reading/waiting, Thank You. I felt you deserved an update, as minimal as it is right now. 💛

Good and Bad news

So... good news first I guess, I'm making an animatic! I mean, it's not Alphatale - or even Undertale - related, which then leads me immediately to the bad news:

Alphatale's taking a backseat in priorities.

Important thing to note, it is NOT going on hiatus. But updates will be far more spread out than they already are, at least for the next six months. Sorry to anyone who's disappointed by this, I am too. But I can't juggle both the full-colored, full-shaded comic with fight scenes and a multi-hundred frame animatic, especially when the animatic has a deadline.

So a bit more about the animatic, it's actually for the Dream SMP fandom. I meant to get started during 2022 but I prioritized Alphatale over it and the months snuck past me. As silly as it might be, this is really important to me and I wanna get it done in time for Technoblade's birthday (June 1st) because I came up with the idea the day after we found out he passed away.

The next page update will still be January 14th, but I currently don't know when the next one after that will be. Probably not for a month, maybe two, it depends on how things are looking by then.

Gaster +Alphatale Update

So this was a random sketch I actually made clear back in October, but didn’t feel like uploading at the time. Then decided to hold off on uploading still until I started officially working on the pages again, and thus we’re here! ^w^ It’s slow going but progress is progress, and it’s getting a bit easier the more I go.

Still gonna take it easy when stocking up on pages before finally posting again, and as stated before the fastest schedule for when updates do start coming out will be every other week at best, but in any case, thanks for sticking with me you guys. I’m happy with where it’s heading. 💛

Meant to post this on Saturday, but work absolutely kicked my butt that day and I forgot XD

Don't know why, but I felt the need to post a quick little wip for the next page, so here's all the backgrounds! With the thumbnails for character posing in each panel plus a few notes for myself in white, but all of it is super faint and zoomed out, lol

In other news:

Sorry yeah, been like totally dead on this blog for months, and then all of ‘a sudden the only content you get is a signal boost for my friend, BUT I’ve gotten my passion back for writing the script again for Alphatale and I’m excited with a hopefulness for the future! Still gonna be a while before I actually get around to drawing or let alone posting the pages again, but it really seems closer than ever. ^w^

Thanks so much for your patience with me guys, I really appreciate anyone who’s taken time out of their day to even follow this story in the first place. And to those interested as well, I’m in a much better mental state, hence my revived passion to return to this and remember why I love it. 💛

Update (Apr-29-2021)

Hey! The first good news for this blog in a while (or news at all orz), but been working through my mental crap and, apparently, a break from the fandom was something I also needed. Though lately I’ve been getting back into it and reminding myself why I fell in love with this game in the first place.

I still got a while to go before I’m ready to work on the comic again, but there’s progress and - at the very least - an end in sight!

Opinions?

Don’t know if anyone will respond to this (or even care lol) but I’ve been debating remaking Alphatale. Like, I’m definitely proud of everything in Chapter 3, that’s staying. But Chapter’s 1 and 2 there are some things in the story, details and pacing that I wanna change up and revise. Plus I thought of a new way to do speech bubbles that’ll make it more obvious who’s talking.

Whether or not I decide to do it - or just continue where I’m at - it’s still gonna be like, weeks from when I get started again. But the thought just occurred and idk, thought I might get some outside opinions.
