A fic explaining how Symmetra got her new weapons and abilities from Vishkar and how she would personally react to her tweaked powers
“I’ve been able to shorten and optimize the construction process for several items,” Satya explains, gesturing in the air, shaping holograms and models of her new creations. “In addition, I can preprogram deployment, allowing for remote construction - the teleporters and turrets can now be ‘launched’ with some simple antigravity, allowing them to activate after they have found an appropriate stable surface.”
It was months of work. It took breaking systems, changing them, pushing them far beyond their limits. A building-size wall usually takes hours of work and a team of projectors. Teleportation is usually limited to long-established two-point connections set up in advance - her quick teleportation was already exceptional, and now she’s improved it still more.
She’s proud. She knows she should be proud.
She’s done the impossible.
Sanjay gives her a slight smile behind his desk, half his attention on a screen in front of her. “As expected of our Satya,” he says, with the tone of someone discussing a pleasant day. “We’ll start the process for getting your more stable innovations- whichever those are - into mass production, and of course you’re clear to use it on missions.”
She nods, once. “I... of course. Thank you.”
“Send the documentation over to me and I’ll pass it along.” He turns to the screen entirely. “When you head out, do you mind telling Aditya to come in? We need to discuss his new management position.”
She stands for half a moment more, then dismisses the holograms. “Of course.”
He doesn’t look up as she turns away.
It doesn’t matter. She has work still left to do.
