Admittedly I'm not much of a punk rock person. I used to be, about 4 years ago, but now I'm one of those lame Top 40 listeners. I have a Sterek Playlist full of EDM which is probably my favourite thing to listen to in the car. But now omg I have so much new music to listen to because of you and after that Chicago flashback, an entire ALBUM I should probably be listening to and it's giving me flashbacks to a really good time in my life so yeah. I was missing this genre without even realising it.
(cont) (I was trying to end that last ask with a thank you for reviving my love of this music but I ran out of characters. YOU GET THE GIST.)
Oh man, punk/pop punk/~emo~ was the music of my adolescence and then I basically just turned into a typical indie-listening hipster college student, with occasional visits back to my roots. ALSO WHATEVER, TOP 40 IS TOP 40 FOR A REASON. I am not above Top 40 radio.
Anyway last summer I had this great pop punk revival and it's STILL GOING. I CAN'T STOP LISTENING TO BRAND NEW HELP. But isn't it the greatest thing in the world to revisit?? It's all the musical love with less youthful angsting. I love it so muchhh. And Deja Entendu is just.... one of the albums of my life. (Also, I've been obsessively revisting The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me and sending texts to my best friend like "the spiritual, theological struggle in this album is so fascinating" because i'm that asshole)
You are very welcome, my friend, I am all about trying to recruit people to struggle through/thoroughly enjoy musical nostalgia with me. <3
