Oldish doodles of sundew plant OC named Drosera I was gonna put in artfight but never got around to making proper refs for. oh well she can be yeeted out here instead! She's got big chompy teeth (carnivorous plant) and is kind of a jerk who is oblivious to a lot of the like, cultural zeitgeist because she grew up in a swamp being raised by a pissed off tree, but hey, she's kind on the inside. Just a little murdery. I like her a lot :D
she was created as a class project by a student wizard who couldn't figure out how to unsummon her after the project ended. so they dumped her on their ex (a dryad) and ran away.

she's not really a human or a monster (literally a sentient plant).
Her magic reserves are fuelled by photosynthesis, rather than a soul (yk how superman is powered by the sun? like that).
she's a bit more human looking than dryadMom due to her spark of life magic coming from a human wizard.
she likes to tap into mycelium networks to gather information (but really it's mostly for gossip)
she's always being criticised by dryadMom for not being more powerful, not taking more opportunities given that she's ambulant with full range/not bound to a tree like dryadMom, and for never actually hunting down the wizard (she doesn't really want to kill them). It's like their own strange version of Why Aren't You A Doctor???
instead she gets her revenge on the wizard by enacting some kind of prank wherein the wizard becomes an embarrassing viral meme (maybe it's a vine video... plant pun). she takes the video home to dryadMom. dryadMom is quietly proud and thinks its hilarious. family bonding moment aw.
she also has healing magic but she hates to use it because she's really bad at controling it. dryadMom only focused on offensive skills with her so she never learned to harness it properly, so if she starts healing someone it doesn't stop until she's healed them entirely or totally tapped out her magic reserves.
this doesn't harm her as such, but makes her vulnerable which she hates.
it's not a big deal with small injuries, but if someone is hiding something she is unaware of it can backfire badly. she's been burned before by this and doesn't trust many people with her healing magic as a result.
so she stubbornly denies having healing magic at all to most people despite it being like a default thing that plant type creatures have. tsundere healer with terrible bedside manner my beloved...
when her reserves get totally drained out she can replenish them by taking a literal dirt nap (hah), preferably in the sunshine, with water. she can extend her root system while doing this to absorb ambient magic from the earth and sunshine. but it's a vulnerable position to be in, so she mostly tries to avoid getting into this state.
