AlpineStar was the previous leader before his son, stagstar. He is the father of Darkwhispers and Stagstar and mate to Snowfeather. When he was deputy, he had become mates with snowfeather, a cat he thought he loved. After he discovered the real reasons behind snowfeathers apparent 'love' for him, he was heartbroken and angered. He confronted the she-cat who attempted to manipulate him, then convinced him that things would be fine. When that didn't work, the two argued before she placed a paw on him, trying to calm him. He reacted to this, smacking her paw away with more force than anticipated, and snowfeather fell off the cliff they were by, plummeting to her death. Alpinetail never meant to kill her, but he was scared that he would be exiled from his clan if he ever told the truth and that he would never be able to see his children again. Unfortunately, after this, darkkit seemed to avoid him more often - and prehaps was even scared of him. As the moons went on, he grew closer to stagpaw, whom he would eventually name stagpeak and appoint as deputy. But Alpinestar never seemed to have a close connection with dark whispers. Then, he took a midnight walk one day. He felt as though something had been wrong the entire day. And when he reached the rocky clearing, near that very cliff, he happened to know why. Darkwhispers confronted him with a terrifying anger, revealing that she watched him kill her mother. Horrified, he attempted to explain the truth, but she wouldn't listen. She attacked Alpinestar, but he never attacked her back or attempted to defend himself, wishing not to harm his daughter. He was killed that night, but before his vision darkened once and for all, he could've sworn he saw the misty spirit of a familiar white she-cat standing behind Darkwhispers.
