Things I’ve Learned in 2018

1. You will fail, more than ever before. But get back up, dust yourself off and try again.

2. Hell to the liars.

3. Not everyone is there for you as they seem to say.

4. Locking your heart away doesn’t solve anything. Learn to let go of the things that are bothering you, or you won’t find peace at all.

5. Nothing lasts forever. Some things just aren’t meant to be. Take a deep breath and keep going.

6. Rejection really fucking hurts. 

7. Your true friends are your soulmates. Don’t let them go.

8. Set your old heart free.

9. Take every success as it comes. Celebrate your fortunes. 

10. You will work your arse off and it will still not be good enough for some people.

11. Never let anyone get in the way of your happiness or belittle you. 

12. Stick up for yourself when no one else can.

13. Travelling heals and calms the soul. Get out there, there’s more to life than you may think.

14. Life is beautiful yet can be so destructive. Focus on the beautiful.

Hello, I’m Emily, but you can call me Em.

I decided to make a studyblr because I want to record and document my progress in a way that shows my creativity. I’m fairly motivated and I do very well in school, but by being part of this community, I will have people to fall back on when I’m not feeling super motivated or not doing as well as I want to in school.

1. The basics

·       20 years old

·       I’m a junior in college; I attend a university in the Greater Boston Area

·       I’m majoring in Psychology and minoring in music and communications with a concentration in advertising

·       My pronouns are she / her / hers

·       ENTJ

·       My birthday is March 12, Pisces

2. What I like to do

·       I love to sing. I’m president and director of my university’s a cappella group.

·       I like to cook and bake

·       I love hanging out with friends; driving around, eating food, partying every once in a while. I just love being surrounded by great people.

·       I like to plan events. I’m treasurer of my university’s programming board. We plan a large majority of the events that happen on and off campus. This year, I get to plan our annual spring concert.

3. Classes I will be taking in the fall.      

·       Math for Liberal Arts

·       Introduction to Communications

·       Writing for the Media

·       Biological Psychology

4. What you can expect from me

·       A lot of text posts (like these) with tips, advice, how my day went, what I’m working on, what I’m struggling with, etc.

·       Some mediocre “studyspo” pictures of notes with chicken scratch and poor lighting – I’m not here to please anyone aesthetically, I’m just here to document my journey.

·       A masterpost every once in a while.

·       A friend that you can rely on and send messages too. I will celebrate with you during your victories and be there for you during your failures. I will give advice and and direct you to some great resources.

Hope everyone is having a nice, relaxing easter break and are spending some quality time with the ones they love the most! After seeing some friends and going home to see my family, I’m ready to jump back into some studying for the next week to catch up on all my subjects during the mid-semester break. Coffee and some scrumptious easter cookies are getting me through!
