so about a week or so ago i had a thought about alruna and her warlock stuff specifically, "if aldous' burn scars spread as he levels, what if alruna's armor becomes more mechanical/monstrous in appearance??" cue me drawing some bullshit and the idea turned into this!!! which is actually 'alruna if she were being used as a puppet by her patron' because THERES NO WAY A WARLOCK PATRON IS A GOOD BEING IM SORRY I REFUSE TO BELIEVE IT.

i like the idea of this being a boss fight either where im in control and get to fuck up my friends OR its like. alruna's corpse being controlled after she dies or smth either way its fucked up and i love it to yap abt the design a bit tho~ just like how Syro pulls from some ancient sketches i did of some automatons we ran into like YEARS AGO (it was a dungeon and very fun!) alruna is the same, while also pulling from what has since been done to Syro's design! so the stars, filigree, and shoulderpiece come from syro, while the ball joints, and ribbed limbs come from the automatons the drippy face came later, mainly bc i thought it was interesting to have both twins have half of their face obscured/distorted by their fucked up magic (to symbolise depersonalisation) but yea!!! thats the spoopy alruna artwork!!! and the sketch is under the cut~~~~~~

Have I?????? drawn alruna's new design yet??????? idk. i def have done sketches of it but idk if ive done a digital lmao- ANYWAYS!!!!!! here it is!!!! i like the gold boots and the bodysuit kinda thing the last design had, so i just got rid of the old jacket and replaced it with her funky new one! this is actually supposed to be an artwork depicting the astral plane (bc her cloak/coat of stars allows that) buuuuuuuuuuut idk. might make that have a fancier design~

tbh i dont really know what to do with the astral plane anyways? i was chatting to my friend blobbie abt it and the current idea is 'the final world' from KH3 but like...... stars....... n shit..... but idk if i should give alruna a funky design bc of her jacket or just leave her as-is idk BUT I'LL FIGURE IT OUT :P

"wow!!! This is lovely!! Chester, How much is this??" It was like 5 gold lmao. here's the final session art!!! it's alruna and eric in a cool magic item shop we found and theyre lookin for cool shit and ALRUNA ROLLED LIKE- A 100 AND A 94 AND FOUND BOTH A BIG BLOO ROCK AND A ROBE OF STARS not that she knows that yet >:3c and bc it was such a funky moment in my head, i of course had to draw it out

idk how to put it into words, but there's something so like- perfect about alruna finding something truly emblematic of herself whilst in the shadow of the city run by her parents, and with her friends something something "blood of the covenant water of the womb" found family type thing idk even ignoring the found family stuff, alruna's not a doll for her parents to dress up and show off at parties anymore- she's a whole ass adventurer with real connections and passions that she's only discovered and began to express after leaving larnwick the first time idk. i just think its really interesting how stuff worked out.

ALSO!!! i did a matcha and put some fun stuff in the BG >:3c there's some nods to my Tales of Xadia characters, VTM chronicle, and 0ther assorted ttrpg characters missed opportunity for me to stick in some Oriens from my comic, buuuuuuuuuuuut thats fine eventually they'll be mentioned again

... so i drew the heroforge outfit. and SHES SO COOL AUGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I LOVE IT SO MUCH SHE LOOKS SO SCARY AND LIKE SHE COULD ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING IN A FIGHT- which i mean she already can??? but she doesn't like to fight rn. and also getting warlock powers in whatever fashion she does will prolly be really freaky so like its prolly gonna be some character development before we get to this point BUT STILL SHES VERY COOL AND I LOVE HER SO MUCH AUGHHHH and the lighting is so cool AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA i love my tieflings :::)

so i was thinkin about how a WHILEEEEE ago i drew alruna's spear/ pact weapon like- forming out of her kickass orbs (not for pondering sadly) but also how would said magical orbs interact with the pact weapon so i thought it would be fun if it were like- an orb splitting itself in two and forming the pact weapon but then also reforming the orb because the orb system is seperate from the pact weapon thing alruna has going on- i think its something that makes more sense in my head but STILL GODDAMN i wish i had as much aura as alruna does T^T or really any of my OCs theyre all too cool how do i compete with that

a few years back I did a watercolour of Alruna and it's been up on my walls for AGESSSSS bc its really cool so i decided to redraw it as a digital!!!! and also update the outfit lmao usually i dont like putting artworks next to eachother but it really shows the difference in not only alruna's design, but in my art abilities for context, i made the original watercolours like 3 years ago now??? at that point she was still gonna be a bardlock i think, n so her design was still a bit on the performer side, but then i thought it would be fun if she went full warlock bullshit, and so slowly (AND I MEAN SLOWLY) it changed into being more practical ...and then i got a cloak of stars last session but anyways- as for my own art, idk im really bad at this- it's def gotten a bit cleaner. would that be the right word??? idk. but its not as round. idk i think theyre both good and work within the context of what i wanted to do with alruna at the time :::)

alruna by beloved <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 i thought she'd look really pretty in some super shiny jewellery!! also i wanted to try my hand at drawing a Jhumka stack, because they're absolutely beautiful but then it kinda spiralled into alruna wearing a bunch of pretty shiny things as she should :::) she looks incredible!!!

i also tried using colours for my shading this time?? usually i use black and white on a soft light layer, but i've played around with colour before (like on this artwork of lucien not that you can really tell-) but this time i did the blue parts with a really light blue as a highlight, and almost a dark teal-y colour as the shadow on a soft light layer again, of course, but i think it looks really good!!!! uwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa alruna's so prettyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

ALRUNAS SO COOL YALL I LOVE HER SO MUCH- anyways. i did a sketch a bit ago that's kinda like. a posing idea bc im really bad at action scenes and even worse with spears (or whetever tf u call alruna's pointy magic stick) but then it kinda evolved into "hey what would it look like when alruna's leaving the astral plane while using her coat of stars?? the answer to that, i still dunno. im not vibing with the ghostly look here tho i still dunno if her appearance should look any different in the astral plane lmao maybe??? idk??? i wouldnt even know what to do actually but thats a thought for another day. if yall have ideas idk tell me i might use em :/ also idk why the edges look weird Q_Q my blur tool hates my guts
