Katsuki is one hundred percent used to your antics having been your boyfriend since high school, and he knew the second the first day of fall arrived, where you would be. He knew you loved everything about fall, the changing colour of the leaves, the fact that every cafe had twice the amount of cinnamon items in it then it usually did during the year. And pumpkin spice lattes, he hates them, but the look on your face when he buys you one is worth the smell of it.
Katsuki will never admit it, but the look in your eyes when you notice fall is just around the corner has him falling for you a little bit more. Your grin as bright as the damn sun, part of him wants to wince at how radiant you are, but would never tell you just how much you affect him in the simplest of ways.
So when Katsuki arrives at your apartment complex to pick you up for your date, he’s not surprised to see you standing in the middle of a pile of golden and red leaves in the courtyard of your building. For a moment, he just watches you as you kick them around, laughing like a child and grinning like a maniac. A soft smile pulls across his lips and damn it, he can’t seem to stop it. You look so beautiful, bundled up in a sweater to fight of the slight breeze, your hair a slight frizz to it, and your rosy cheeks. But most of all, your damn smile. Who gave you the right to be that stunning all the time? How was he supposed to keep up with that? Katsuki was in a constant internal war between being a jealous asshole and glaring at every single guy that ever looked your way, whilst also wanting to smirk at them and snap “Fuck yeah that’s my girl you damn extra!” in pride.
But right at this very second, he is more than content to watch your inner child-like excitement play out because of your favourite season. It’s only when you begin to spin in a circle that you notice him standing there; your hair whipping around your face and a bright grin on your face. The second your eyes meet his own red vermillion pair, Katsuki moves towards you as if he is drawn to your very being like a moth to light.
“Katsuki!” You say stepping out of the leaves, that bright smile not leaving your face, but somehow growing more at the sight of him. Yeah, he’s not going to lie, that felt good.
“When did you get here?” The question falls from your lips like honey and part of him internally shivers. “You weren’t waiting long were you?” Your voice is quiet, and god, you look so cute with your rosy cheeks and practically sparkling eyes.
“I just got here. I was going to walk up to your apartment but I knew you’d be here instead.” He explained before focusing on your jacket. It’s at that point that he realises for the first time in a while, you’re not wearing one of the many hooded jumpers that you’ve stolen from him over the years. Your brown jacket is cute, but something pulls at his chest at the idea. He’d gotten so used to the sight of it, now that you’re not in it, Katsuki’s not sure how to feel.
“It’s meant to get cold tonight.” Katsuki starts, immediately coming up with a strategy to fix the situation. “You’re going to freeze.”
A small laugh bubbles out of your mouth as your eyes drift back down yourself, there was no way you’d be cold, you both knew that. “Katsu, I think-”
“Take this.” Katsuki barely says the words before he wraps his scarf around your neck and no he definitely didn’t smile as you immediately buried your face in it. You give him a thankful smile and immediately link your fingers through his.
“Don’t say I never gave you anything.”
“I would never.” You laugh, reaching up onto your tiptoes and pressing a kiss to his cheek. “Happy first day of fall Katsuki.” He looks down at you and doesn’t even bother to hide the affection that he knows is all over his face.
“Happy spooky month sweetheart,” Katsuki replies, pressing a kiss to the crown of your head before you two stride down the street towards the park.
