PSA: Windows 11 22H2 EATS TSBin Files (at least that’s what I suspect)
About a year or so ago I updated my windows 10 laptop to windows 11, which was no issue as far as games and things go. This latest update, which has been sitting on my to-do list for a few days (maybe weeks?) and I decided, what the hell, I’ll update it tonight. BAD IDEA.
I update my computer after almost an hour, cool, great, fine. I go to fire up TS2 and I get the dreaded “Sims 2 iS NoT iNsTaLLeD oN tHiS cOmPuTeR” error. Sometime last year I ran into this issue, and it was just a simple fix of changing the install path to the correct one within the registry. I go to fix the registry load up my game once more, same error.
I go to look at my game files, and the TSBin is gone on each EP with exception to the reshade/RPC files. I suspect something went down during the update process. So if you are wondering if you should update your Windows 11 to 22H2, the answer if you want to keep your game from being baleeted, it’s a big fat HELL NO. The tab system is nice though.
There’s nothing to lose now, so I’m going to experiment with some things to get this game working again without reinstalling. So any mods and stuff are going to be on the backburner.
