Busy weekend!
Happy to be playing a lot. Bass duties with Intro Signal on Fountain Square for Indie Friday powered by Cincy Music, where we'll be opening for Indie powerhouses Sloan! Then my alt-80s band Blue Eighty will play Saturday night at OTR Stillhouse from 7 to 11 with the best music from music's best decade.
XTC - Senses Working Overtime (1982)
I was looking for music not on the radio as a kid. XTC was one of the earlier bands I found. But they were different than most bands I knew at the time. They had already stopped touring and seemed to concentrate on musicianship and songwriting and didn’t care what style of music they did that in. The variety of their sounds were confusing and just made me like them more. This is one where there is a very hummable chorus so instantly accessible. Yet, it’s not your usual pop fodder. If you are looking for something different and interesting this is a band we will need to dig deeper into. They don’t disappoint.
