Alt-Calliope’s session happened long, long after the act 7 end of Homestuck, yet could be considered the first session for Paradox Space.
Alt-Calliope has always been among the most enigmatic characters in Homestuck, but at this point, at the end of all things, it is obvious where she came from, and what the specifics were to her session.
Let’s recall Aranea’s Cherub story...
The egg containing Calliope and Caliborn was laid on Earth, millenia after all life had come and gone. In Alt-Calliope’s case, this is completely the same. The key is it being laid on the successful kid’s now dead planet.
Without anything special raising the cherubs, left to their own devices, Calliope was always destined to predominate. And so she did dominate over her brother, and that was when she found the remains of the meteor and Sburb.
Entering the game in a similar manner to Caliborn (bringing her “earth” in with her), she found nothing save one creature. Her Denizen, Echidna
Echidna existed on Earth due to Jade’s Choice! Remember this?
?GG: that if i accepted her help
?GG: that i would have to make a promise
?GG: that whenever we left this place
?GG: and wherever we end up going
?GG: she had to come
PCG: HUH?
?GG: not just echidna but all the denizens
?GG: their palaces their consorts their lands...
?GG: everything
?GG: i have to bring them all with us
On an Earth after millenia near a dying star, the Denizen Echidna would be the only thing left alive in the planet Calliope brought in with her, because it is necessary for her to be there to give one Cherub a very critical Choice.
The Choice that created Lord English was at least as much Alt-Calliope’s as it was Caliborn’s. Her choice was to accept the path of the Martyr, as explained by Aranea.
ARANEA: In a tongue only his player could understand, he descri8ed what the path of the martyr entailed.
ARANEA: In short, it involved nothing.
ARANEA: The player chooses to walk away from the tempt8tion of power. To surrender all am8ition, and to welcome death.
ARANEA: In exchange for this pledge comes a promise. The player's sacrifice is assured to 8enefit all who will ever live.
ARANEA: In death, the player would later 8e in the position to help 8ring an end to a force of unfathoma8le evil and destruction.

Accepting this choice in effect scratched her session. Because she had Chosen to be the martyr instead of living out her days forever alone, her Choice allowed Paradox Space to reset her session in a manner where the other Choice would be chosen (much like a Scratch). This is why Lord English is sanctioned to exist by Paradox Space, as Doc Scratch told Rose ages ago.
But the danger he poses is sanctioned by paradox space.
It is a known quantity. His very existence in a universe will mean it will inevitably be torn apart.
But there are rules to his entry, and his grim procession through paradox space is rather orderly. The present equilibrium has accounted for him, and will continue to.
For the Conqueror (Lord English), to be sanctioned by Paradox Space to exist, the Martyr (Alt-Calliope) must first make the sacrifice that guarantees he will eventually be stopped. They are the dual angels that bring about The End of All Things.
I do not presume to know whether Alt-Calliope knew that that was what her choice would bring when she made it, but it brought about a wonderful story.
