The sun was slowly setting, the golden rays kissing along the mist kicked up by the crashing surf as waves rolled in from the open sea. It was nearly nightfall, soon the moon would replace the sun and stars would cover the heavens- providing darkness as a cover for a boat to ease free from the protective cove and venture out into the breaking waves, heading for open waters.

Penny sat on the dock, watching the sun with a fond smile as she picked at the chipped wood. It was almost time to go. Work called her out into the water and soon she'd be off for her routine rounds. She'd done them every night since Penny had discovered the truth.

The beautiful sunset now gone, the small woman stood from her perch and made her way back off the dock and inside. Gears shifting filled the air as the warehouse's doors slowly slid open- allowing passage for a small boat to pass from the safety of it's walls to the protected cove. It was a path taken many times before, she had no fear of the breaking waves as she made it to the open sea. Penny knew this route like the back of her hand and she knew exactly where she was going.

The traps were never moved thankfully, allowing for repeated checks and freeings without suspicion on their owners behalf, leaving Penny to continue her work.

Thankfully the first trap was empty.

As was the second.

The third trap however,

Was not.

The boats engine was killed almost immediately and Penny rushed to the side as her heart fluttered in pure worry and anxiety, leaning and peering over the edge to see if she'd made it on time and if the being inside was still alive, or not. The water was murky and at this depth it was hard to tell-

There! A flash of green and Penny knew she'd seen a scale glimmer under the moonlight, far too stationary for it to be a passing fish, and too large in comparison to fish she knew frequented the area. The anchor was dropped and that was that.

Face set with determination, the only sounds were that of her feet across the deck as the waves gently slapped against the boats hull. A few tools were collected and snapped to her belt- simple goggles slipped over her eyes while her glasses were left to the side. Hopefully like before, poor vision wouldn't impair her too badly in this moment.

"Okay...okay got that- that- that- let's rock and roll."

Cheesy but effective, and Penny was soon shoeless and overboard, swimming quickly down to where she could see the trap in the water. There was a large blurry form in it, and just but the look even if it had no distinctive details to her eyes, Penny knew it was not a simple fish.

Small hands reached out and pulled herself to the large traps exterior, a rush of bubbles escaping her as she manuevered her way to the front where Penny knew the locking mechanism was- when the scales flashing caught her eyes again. In a brief moment of distraction- she paused with her hands on the lock

And looked up at a blurry face.

       “   fuugo, fuugo !!!  ”     the boy runs up the stairs to their room. the group is staying in a low-key hotel, so there was no room big enough for all of them. bruno, abbacchio && trish are in one room, mista && giorno are in another, and he && fuugo occupy a third room. the italian boy looks pretty euphoric:     “   i saw your name in a book i picked up in the library, look!   ”

       when he enters, almost knocking the door, fuugo is at his desk looking very busy with his own affairs, but narancia simply ignores all this stuff && throws the book violently in the space of the table in front of him. he points to the speech of one of the characters who makes mention of another character who really is called ‘fuugo’.
