ALL RIGHT BABY WITCHES! I AM GONNA LEARN YOU A THING OR TWO ABOUT ALTAR SPACES SO PULL UP A STOOL AND MAKE SURE YOUR CANDLES ARE IN A SAFE AREA CAUSE HERE WE GO! ( I am speaking from experience, mostly.) From TOP to Bottom are my personal Altar Spaces. Hades, Loki (Who is my patron, aka my main deity, etc) Sigyn, the little elephant is Ganesh, and lastly we have Apollo’s space! Because he asked and saying no to a gods friend request is usually a bad idea. I’m not saying you can’t, I”m saying make sure you are smart about who and what you attract. Me? I’m a child of chaos, Loki is my protector, my guide, my teacher and occasionally he has been my comfort. Sigyn literally came after he picked me and was like “You’re gonna need me sweetie, here’s an ancient knife, this is how you use it. I’ll be here if you need me!” That aside take a close look at the things the spaces hold. Each one has things sacred to the particular god or goddess they’re meant for. A black candle and mint on Hades, Apollo has tarot cards wrapped up, a music box for a musical, and even some nelly dancing guidance and yellow flowers. Loki’s got a cup I often fill with sweet booze. Ganesh has coins for prosperity. You’re altar space does not have to be perfect, but you need to be sure it’s got the right things on it, for whoever you are making it for. Which is often as simple a a candle in the right color, and some sort of herb or just flowers, maybe a little bowl for offerings. Often sweets are a good thing to offer, and booze tends to always go over well with most deities. You can easily google “Altar items” but my advice? Set up a space. Look up the things your deity likes, is a patron of, is asociated with, etc and do THAT. You don’t need a statue, you don’t need a sacred bowl of burning herbs and incense constantly going. Sometimes the best offerings, are talking to the deity, the best ways to honor them ore simple. I mean...look at me. My space is a bloody chaotic mess! But then...I’m a Lokean...Chaos is kind of my jam. No go and find yours! ( If I spelled any names incorrectly I apologize for it. I try to catch my mistakes but I can’t catch them all, they ain’t pokemon.)
