Queen Eclipsa Butterfly theories/headcanons (in no particular order)
She was a bit of a Troublemaker like Star in her youth, but the scolding from her mother was a lot harsher than any scolding Moon ever gave to Star.
Because she lost her mother at an age close to when Moon’s mother died, she became queen at that age, and couldn’t make time to meet boys, so her marriage to her mewman husband was an arranged one.
Their relationship was... a distant relationship built more on political practicality than anything else. That loveless relationship was why she ran off with the monster.
The All-seeing eye spell was created after a brush of paranoia led her to believe that there were people within the castle that sought to usurp her... she used it quite a lot.
The reason she never consulted Glosseryk was because she felt that he would tell her to stop using dark magic.
She used other spells of dark magic for quick and easy solutions to her more... nuanced problems.
She used the garden to help clear her head.
She also would scry-speak with her monster-lover.
She had more than one child with her mewman husband.
After she was crystalized, the more responsible of the two children was given the wand by the Magic High Commission.
The child who was denied the wand was named... Olga.
It was during Eclipsa’s reign that the age that princesses received the wand became 14.
Eclipsa’s mother would make her chocolate whenever Eclipsa was feeling sad.

The reason Eclipsa’s mother died was because... Eclipsa didn’t want to wait until she was 18 to inherit the wand.
