Hey guys! I know it’s been quiet here for the past few weeks. I haven’t posted anything for about a month! Sorry about that. It’s just that I’ve been too engrossed with certain ‘ ~ things ~ ‘ (mostly kbeauty things) that I can’t really find time to blog.
So what might I have been up to recently, you ask?
Well, here’s a rundown of the things keeping me preoccupied at the moment.
My “excuses” for not being able to blog
My number 1 priority is of course, my #bebebella. We started feeding her solids on her fourth month but we’ve been doing it more religiously now. So far, she has had mashed Fuji apples, carrots, potatoes, and squash., and I think she’s really enjoying them.
Our morning routine involves nursing and sleep until about 8 AM, then she either goes back to sleep or plays with me. At about 9-10 AM, I feed her her dose of solids for the day, after which she has her bath. Most afternoons she just nurses and naps but she will only nap in my arms or on my chest. The moment you put her down? BAM! She’s awake. I normally don’t want to risk it so I just spend time on my computer while she sleeps. I now understand why my whole body was so sore after our day out yesterday. I’m no longer used to all those hours of commute. My legs, my arms, my shoulders, my back, my butt… everything hurts. And to think I mostly traveled via Uber! I might sound like an old lady but I don’t think I can ever do it again!
TIP: Use my code xengm4ue when booking your first uber ride and get Php 40 off on your first trip!
Bella made a new friend! It’s a playdate!
As I mentioned above, a majority of my day is spent in front of the computer so that Bella can sleep. This extra time online has led me to explore the various online stores, as well as ways to shop smarter online. In the past months, I’ve been buying a lot from Zalora, Althea, and BeautyMNL. I also got a bunch of stuff from the Forever 21 Global Store when they had this crazy sale that I just couldn’t resist.

Use my code to get discounts every time you shop on Zalora
A friend noticed that I had quite a lot of purchases from Zalora and told me about Shopback. Basically, you get rebates for your online purchases. So if you’re buying anyway, use Shopback.
It’s really easy to use, too, especially on a computer. You can just get the Chrome extension which will light up/pop up every time you are on a store offering Shopback rebates. You just have to click it, activate cashback, and you’re good to go!
Shopback chrome extension is super kaduper useful! Just go to any online store and if it’s covered by Shopback, you’ll get a pop-up notification on the upper right corner of your screen!
BONUS! If you’re considering using Shopback, you can use this referral link which will give you an instant Php 100 in your account, and another Php 100 after you make your first qualified purchase (minimum Php 500). I already have Php 370 pending in my Shopback account. The stores they cover include Zalora (2% cashback), Lazada (up to 9%), Althea (7%), Forever 21 (2%), Charles and Keith (6.5%), Agoda (6%), Klook (3%), among others.
Been binge watching series for the past month! I have free iflix subscription because of our PLDT Home Fibr account, so if you’re using PLDT Home Fibr, just login to iflix and check if you’re qualified for a free 4-month subscription.
Aside from PLDT giving me free months on iflix, I also won 3 more months during the #WinWithCiti promotion of Citibank so I’m good until July 2018. 🙂
The shows I’ve seen in the past few weeks are:
– Dream High 2 (Korean, 16 episodes)
Dream High 2 is available for viewing on iflix!
Kang So-ra was the main character here and it was very High School Musical-ish. Each episode breaks out into a song, or something like that. It’s also with this series that I first realized how Kdramas don’t care about details such as consistency and continuity. Like, in a scene were Shin Hae-sung falls on top of JB, one shot shows her hands planted on the floor. Next it’s over JB’s chest. Then back again on the floor. All in split-second frames. It’s just so inconsistent. The story also isn’t all that great. If I were to rate it, it will be a 2.5/5. Yup. But I finished it anyway. LOL.
– The Magicians (Season 3 ongoing; 13 episodes per season)
3 seasons of The Magicians is available for viewing on iflix!
I love, love, looove this show! It’s like the modern and American version of Harry Potter. Hogwarts=Brakebills. Aaand! it’s set in New York!
It’s so current and the characters are so progressive and sometimes even self-aware. LOL. The humor is so on point. And don’t even get me started on the sarcasm!!! Hahaha! I’ve never really been good at waiting for episodes and I’d much rather binge-watch than wait, but ugh! Can hardly wait for new episodes every Thursday (Wednesday US time)!! I just love this show and I don’t care what you think. Kbye!
– Strong Girl Do Bong-Soon (Korean, 16 episodes)
Strong Woman Do Bong Soon is available for viewing on iflix!
Just learned recently from my niece that this was aired on GMA 7. Doesn’t matter though, I still like it, but not as much as I like The Magicians. LOL. It has a crime/suspense aspect and not just all lovey dovey shiz. Me gusta. I haven’t finished it yet but I’m almost there. I’m on Episode 13/16. I hope the finale doesn’t disappoint.
Speaking of #WinWithCiti, they’re giving away 2 brand new BMW Grand Tourister cars! AAAAHHH! I hope I win, though I was never really lucky with raffles. LOL. So Citibank, if you’re reading this, please let me win. HAHAHA! It would just be so much easier for us to do things with #bebebella if we had our own car.
To be honest, this makes me a wee bit guilty, but recently, I have been spending a lot of time (and money) on online beauty stores, namely BeatyMNL and Althea Korea. As is probably evident in my blog about my 10-step Korean skin care routine, I source most of my beauty stuff from these two online stores, with the exception of several items that I got from Korea, local drugstores, and The Body Shop.
Below are some of my Kbeauty hauls. I’m really enjoying this too much, can you tell?
My first Althea Korea Holiday Box! These are limited edition!
This Onsaemeein Perfect Moisture Cream comes with a tiny spoon for a more hygienic application.
Urban Eco Harakeke Toner from The Saem. Super cute packaging!
My sheet masks! There’s Rorec, Baroness, Torriden, and Boom Deah Dah
My Althea Haul for February 2018 consists of masks from Boom Deah Dah, Torriden, Urban Eco Harakeke Toner from The Saem, and an Onsaemeein Skin Wonderland set.
My sheet mask haul from BeautyMNL for February 2018! I have here Esfolio sheet masks, Bioaqua, and an Innisfree sleeping mask pack. So excited to try them all!
Here’s my sheet mask selfie using the Boom Deah Dah Pomegranate mask. Super nice fit and so much essence! Love it!
This Onsaemeein Yogurt Peeling Gel that I got as part of the Onsaemeein Skin Wonderland set sloughs off the dead skin on your face to reveal new and more youthful skin.
Secret Key Snail Repairing Emulsion from my first Althea Korea Haul!
I have really been enjoying this newfound love for skin care and pampering and I am very thankful that my husband is supportive (a.k.a. he doesn’t nag me about why I buy when I have so much already. LOL). I think I have been seeing results already so I believe all this effort is not in vain. That, or I’m just experiencing placebo effect! LOL!
By the way, if this post somehow inspired you to get something from Althea, here’s a referral code to get Php 200 off your purchase. Share to save a wallet or your pocket. LOL.
Unfortunately for me (and all of us, really), there are no referral bonuses from BeautyMNL. However, they do have rewards for every 30 reviews you post on their products, whether you bought it from them or not. You just have to have at least one (1) qualified purchase among the 30, and then you can get Php 300 credits! At least it’s not a one time use thing, right? Plus, it helps other shoppers know which items really work, so it’s sort of a win-win! Use that to buy more kbeauty items, ya hear?!
Anyway, so that’s it for now. I’mma go back to caring for the baby so I can proceed to my night kbeauty skincare routine.
How’s your year so far? Let me know in the comments!
