Altreu, a small village within the municipality of Selzach, Switzerland, was nominated an “european stork village” as it is (at least during summer) home to about 30 pairs of storks. In autumn, the storks of Altreu fly to Morocco where they overwinter. The journey of two of the storks can be tracked over the internet: Lotte and Ciconia both wear a GPS tracker to illustrate the way the storks of Altreu fly every year
