anyone have the post about the chemicals in always brand pads causing cramps and then the reblog about the site that does cloth pads? I was talking with a friend about reusable pads and can't find the post or remember the pad seller's name for the life of me.

DO NOT USE ALWAYS BRAND PADS

I was told my by gyno that they can cause/worsen yeast infections (I had one for years so I know the drill), and there’s lots of research that backs that up.

Use Kotex. Use Stayfree. Use reusable pads. Just stay away from Always.

Always pad box accurately describes my feeling about my period

This might be a little TMI, but I decided that it's worth talking about. There's a strong possibility that some of my followers have endometriosis or use pads in general or suffer from period awfulness.

I, unfortunately, have endometriosis. With endo, my period flow is often very heavy, and for my own comforts I've relied heavily on pads from the beginning. Always pads were my go-to brand, since they were the most widely popularized and seen as affordable.

For years and years, I've used Always pads consistently.

And within those years, it's been awful.

My period pain and bleeding were awful enough to experience, but as someone with endometriosis, whose pain scales have gone to ten out of ten before, sometimes I found my pad experience to be worse than the period itself. My pads always, without fail, left chafing, blisters, and even scarring.

I assumed that it was normal, because every woman I talked to said the same thing. That Always pads were the best brand, that all period pads were uncomfortable, and to deal with it.

Imagine my validation when the lawsuit against Always come out this year. All of a sudden, I was seeing stories from countless other people talking about their own terrible experiences with Always. After years of assuming it was only my sensitive skin or just the normalcy of pads, I realized it was the fault of the pads.

After years Always for my whole life (almost twenty years, tbh), I went looking for new pads. And I found two brands that I am absolutely in love with.

I have used Cora and Honeypot for about three cycles and have had zero trouble. I don't get blisters or chafing anymore. I do have scarring leftover, but I can deal with that. Even though my periods are still miserable, it's such a relief that I can be partially comfortable now.

So if any of my followers have endometriosis or are suffering with pads or anything in between, I recommend Cora or Honeypot or both.

Hey just a heads up to any of you that use sanitary pads- always brand have mold in them. I got a video about it in my YouTube and had to know for sure, so I just opened one and held it up to the light and surely enough there was mold in it. I would post it here but I don't know if it is appropriate to post toiletry items here. Just, if you have any always brand products, I urge you to check them this way yourself.
