"You’re gonna catch a cold."
There is a teasing lilt to Raleigh's voice, one that has Bonnie flushing darkly and cursing the jaeger pilot's insomnia.
It is just her luck that he is the one to catch her wandering around at night in her pajamas, the nightmares getting so bad that she had literally jumped out of bed and run out of her room in her shorts and tank top, barefoot slapping on the metal floor as she ran down the corridor until her breath was heaving.
He is not mocking though, far from it, in fact, so all Bonnie does is throw him a Look.
The worry hidden in his eyes gives her pause, and she forces a smile. "Who's the medic here?" she tosses back at him playfully. She eyes his equally bare feet and raises an eyebrow. "And apparently I won't be the only one coming down with a cold."
He knows her better than to push the cause of her being out of bed so late, but reads something in her tone and posture to know that she does not want to be alone. Bonnie does not resist when he flings an arm around her shoulder and pulls her into his comforting warmth.
"Well," his breath is hot on her ear, and Bonnie snuggles into his knitted sweater. "Maybe I'll be a better patient with company."
She scoffs and elbows him lightly. "Like that'll ever happen."
[ When she finally gets back to her bed in the early hours of the morning? There are no more nightmares. ]
