This memorial is dedicated 1918” . . . #HistoricMarker at the “Sweetheart Memorial” at #FortDevens in Ayer, MA. Established in September of 1917, the original #CampDevens served as training grounds for American soldiers mobilizing for #WorldWar1. The Sweetheart Memorial was a popular spot for couples to say goodbye before shipping out.
