(btw idk what to do with Chloe’s child yet, since I’m not really sure who she’d end up with. I’ll write as I go)

How Adrien fell in love (chapter 9)
Adrien had pushed past Marinette and sat down, trying to avoid the gum. Marinette had wanted to do something, but had ultimately sunk to her seat. Alya gave her shoulder a friendly squeeze, as she knew Marinette hadn’t been the one to blame.
“Get used to it, Agreste. With your parents’ failing bakery, the only future awaiting you will be at the junkyard!” Chloe had declared, and for some reason it made something tick in Marinette.
She had gotten up, turning to Chloe, staring at her in the eyes.
“I can not believe you. How could you say something like that? What has he ever done to deserve such an attack? Are you so egotistical to think that every single one who isn’t as rich as you is immediately beneath you?”
“Well, I-”
“You used to be my friend. I was happy to come here to see you again, because I thought you’d still be the same you were as a child. But I see now that you’ve changed.”
Everyone else had been silent. Marinette had taken a breath and then turned to Adrien, who looked about as stunned as everyone else.
“And Adrien, I’m sorry. I didn’t put the gum there. Chloe did. Or actually, she made Sabrina do it. I was trying to pick it off, but then you came and I… I couldn’t find the words. I understand how it seemed, and if the roles were reversed, I would have probably come to the same conclusion as well. But I’m sorry. You don’t deserve to be treated like this.”
She’d turned to look at Chloe again. “No one does.”
Alya, you sly fox
