Journal Entry: Argee Alzumar, a.k.a. Reality Glitch
If I am to write a comprehensive account of my journeys throughout Domina, I might as well start with myself. The specifics of my past are a bit long winded and not as interesting as some others I have encountered, so I’ll go through a quick list of some more immediately concerning information.
Despite presenting as one gender or the other, I prefer singular “they” to be used in reference to myself.
I am of both human and elven descent.
I am from the plane “Psike”. Those from Psike are call themselves “Psikers”.
I was roughly 12 during the Mending (when I first became a planeswalker); which would put me well into my senior years if I hadn’t died first.
I am currently a spirit of the dead. I died on Theros, and through some strange interplanar interactions, the eidolon, rather than the returned, possesses a planeswalker spark.
Due to my spectral nature an my training in physically shaping magical energy, I can practically shapeshift; though, I prefer resembling an androginous version of the young adult half-elf I was in life.
No matter the form I take, I will always have the “tell” possessed by all Theroan spirits; that being any part of my form caught in shadow will look like the night sky.
I am not currently interested in pursuing sexual and/or romantic relationships.
While I will openly discuss my limitations and disabilities, using them as an excuse to look down on me will not be tolerated.
Otherwise I currently do not know of anything that may cause an overly-adverse, but otherwise justified response besides common fears, such as spiders, open oceans, or the dark.
Homeplane History
I come from an influential human family on my homeplane; though, I will never see the benefits of such as my biological mother is an elf. When my Father’s family discovered who exactly he had wed, he was disowned. The saddest part about that is he eventually regained his status as an inheritor of Alzumar prestige. Whether he divorced my mother for that reason or it was a happy bonus (for him), the result was the same: I lived in two households. This didn’t last forever, for in my late-teens/early-twenties (I can’t remember exactly) he eventually cut all remaining ties to focus on matters of his old family. In reality that was a good thing for me as his parenting style didn’t .... argee my mental disability. Nothing truamatic, thankfully, but I think it’s left a subtle disdain for male authority my subconscious.
Spark Ignition
Sometime during my pre-teen years, I was with my mother, a renowned archaeologist, when she had uncovered a site filled with what psikers call "chronomaly"-tech: advanced machines that didn't require magic to function, something that has only been recently replicated, and only in very rare, and very controlled, cases; it has baffled researchers for centuries. She had brought me along because it was, until that day, a well known and documented site. What followed was one of the chronomaly devises spontaneously activating (something that had never before or since been replicated) and a large rift opened up to what could only be described as the past: the location on the other side was identical except that all the "ruins" were in peek condition and people were going about their business until they noticed the rift on their end. I didn't understand at the time, being only twelve years old, but my mother knew that the causality violation staring us in the face was a threat to the whole plane. I already knew she was a planeswalker at this point, she had told me and my family about her travels and even brought us souvenirs and taught us foreign magics, so I had some idea of what she meant when she mentioned giving up her spark to seal the rift. She was successful, but rather than her spark being completely annihilated (like I later learned was the norm), it was transferred to me, throwing me across Domina to a plane that was (at the time) currently littered with time-rifts. I was lost and alone, stuck in a strange new realm like those in my mother's stories.
Planeswalking History
So far, my travels have taken to over a score planes (and I will dicuss them in their own entries), but the most notable for events other than the meeting of specific individuals (who I will also detail in this journal if not sufficiently documented elsewhere) include: my initial planeswalk landing me on Dominaria, my contraction of lycanthropy and subsequent cursemuting on Innistrad, my death on Theros, something on Tarkir (that’s a complicated story to get into, that even I don’t fully understand), my recent purgatory on Ixalan, and a rather exciting feat of coordination I managed to pull-off with an old friend to get us both on Kylem.
