most of Salems mental development happened online while exposed to extremely hypersexual spaces and media, so i presume he is incapable of detaching sexuality from..any emotion, at all, moreso specifically he cannot find genuine interest or enjoyment out of anything unless its sexual, he calls art of a character performing a casual, nonsexual activity "boring" because it has no attachment to sex or has no gratifying aspects. he isnt ready to grapple with this yet however.
this is why every other action and spoken word of his somehow has to tie back to sex or being attractive, and why he is terrified of losing his sexual appeal.
he has no identity, wants or desires outside of sexuality, even though he is repulsed by sex and is asexual, he does not have a foothold on personhood that doesnt somehow link him to sex. a horrible paradoxical way to live.
Salem is exhibiting symptoms of hypersexuality, a genuine trauma responce that ruins peoples lives. hypersexuality can manifest even if the individual at hand is asexual.
the only way to exit out of this debilitating mental pattern is to go to therapy for it. its very hard to stop, especially if it became such a bit part of someones identity and theyre not willing to aknowledge it.

I don't know if this is a stupid take, so correct me if it is. But I feel like it's weird for Salem to change Sinkdogs design by making her black? I don't care about racebending or "blackwashing" (dumb phrase) characters from popular IPs or company media, since those are characters owned by a corporation, the OG artist signed their design away to be interpreted. But Sinkdog like, isn't a character from a show.. it's just someones one-off oc. I'm not trying to be holier-than-thou or put words in sinkdogs creators mouth, nor do I even think it's offensive to do, it's just like.. socially awkward, or rude to change someones oc when doing fanart right?

This is a really dumb criticism but bojack horseman is not more likeable than jax, he preyed on teenage girls (twice), forcing one into getting alcohol poisoning and tried having sex with the other outside her parents house, which jax did quite literally none of that
