All your story talk is really inspiring me to get off my butt and do my own comic I've been daydreaming about xD;; it's just really hard when you feel you aren't good at art and I just can't get anything on model, I'm sure you understand the situation. Your art is so great, I'm sure you practiced so much and put in so much effort!! I wish my dum mental illness brain let me do that. But thank you for being so inspiring and cool (:
Practice makes Progress, and perfection is a lie, an ever moving goal built to make us feel bad about what we can't do. Grey tells me this all the time because I too fall into the trap of believing what I create is not good enough, it's the artists bane, our curse. You don't have to be the best, you don't have to be ground breaking, you just have to enjoy the ride. Skills grow, but without the hours put in, they doesn't get that chance to become something you're proud of. Set aside time for it, if you enjoy creating, and allow yourself to make mistakes, it's literally impossible to go forward without errors, and we learn from them. I use to think 'man, wish i could draw hands better', and one day it hit me, I never use to think that, i use to think i totally nailed it! Use to believe that my terrible hand drawings were just fine. I progressed, improved, and that right there, is when you start to see your flaws clearly. Your brain knows somethings wrong with the image, and that in itself is growth, is improvement. Next big step is to just practice more, theres no other way. Talent is a lie. It's the work you put in. I believe you can do this, most of us here on this blog can sympathise with you, we've got our own monkeys on our backs, trying to get in our own way. It is however possible to move forward, but everyones progress looks different, and each one is as valid as the next.
I hope you make that comic one day, even if just a panel at a time.
