Good morning 🌞 How are you today? #haveagoodday A week ago @parfionova @tatyanaparfionova showed her #ss2023 collection in Saint-Petersburg. It was an intimate event, simple. Nostalgic. She called it “Hysteria of Art”. Taking inspiration after #AmadeoModigliani, #KazimirMalevich Parfionova tried to catch the spirit of their time. It wasn’t about copying the fashion, though design of the dresses was quite sophisticated, deceptively simple. It’s a view on the epoch full of hopes, of dramatic changes that were supposed to bring better life and prosperity even to the poorest. But the World War One happened and time was divided as well as human consciousness - naive purity of “before” and lost, dead and broken “after”. Just like this year changed lives of many, showing that there’s always another historical spiral waiting behind the corner. Another turn of events that we as humanity need to pass smoothly keeping in mind the old mistakes, but we don’t remember the lessons. Unable to learn one part of the population is celebrating vanity in considerable prosperity while another part is struggling to reach peace. Art reflects time, portraits conserved the souls of previous generations. Why not to look at them closely, at that essence of harmony and hope, elegant intelligence instead of striking superficial sexuality? Why not to take a moment to slow down, to lower our voice, maybe even to silence them? What if then we’ll actually see and hear each other. Maybe then we’ll know that those who screamed the most have nothing to say, while some things are obvious without explanations. Just like those faces looking at us from antique photographs. I find that collection calming and balancing. Touching even. As always with #TatyanaParfionova its about the woman that owns her garments. Design is out its timeline, out fashion trends. Altogether it’s an art installation, but as separated pieces - just clothes that make the day, define its energy and owner’s intentions.
