What'd they do with the romances?

oh lort…..here comes bioware’s fuckery from yours truly:

first and foremost, they didn’t have a  male squadmate romance for gay/bi bro!ryder at all

they made jaal fucking straight even though they had recorded lines for bro!ryder

yourhave gil, your gay crewmate,  mainly talking about being unable to procreate if you romance him

here comes bioware with that transphobia

newsflash, men can have vaginas 

he is constantly pressured by his lady “friend” to have a baby and reproduce 

makeout scene leading to sex quickly fades to black with his romance (so no sex was shown)

reyes (a non-crewmember and non-squadmate) got more romance content than gil  

romance scenes with reyes as bro!ryder were awkward and you could tell they used sis!ryder as a base first and didn’t bother fixing mistakes

there’s lacking content at the end of the game with him (won’t say for spoilers) 

as much as as i fucking loved vetra’s romance, it lacked a lot 

makeout to sex scene fades to black with her romance too

i just wanted to see my spiky gf naked bioware 

suvi, your lesbian crewmate, barely got any content (and no sex scene)

another fade to black makeout scene leading to sex, this time with liam

they made liam fucking straight

peebee’s locked in romance sex scene was just……….Uncomfortable (no fading to black with this one, they actually showed her riding both sis and bro (enter pun here that i’m too Tired to make))

jaal’s locked in romance sex scene (which holy shit didn’t fade to black wow) was just as Uncomfortable (for me its mainly the moaning in this game, its just………..Bad. there was no hip grinding tho thank the lort, just a trail of kisses leading towards the downstairs area)

they played huge favorites with cora’s romance scene leading to sex (actually showing them being ass naked together and actually showing bro!ryder getting it on with cora; as in full on hip grinding fuckin hell)

cora’s locked in romance scene had way better facial animations (and just better animation overall) then the whole damn game 

in conclusion: bioware hasn’t learned shit from the feedback fans have given them over the years, they need to get their head out of their asses bc what they did was not ~representation~

At least the Gerudo aesthetic is always fun to see. Not to mention that all the NPCs are super entertaining and fascinating to listen to. Which parts of the game have you enjoyed the most, so far?

Honestly? I think the freedom to do whatever is what I enjoy the most. Not the story bits or what I have done so much as I can do this and focus on whatever. Or drop what I’m doing just to aimlessly wander about. It makes the game vastly different than any other game in the series for that alone to me.

Yeah, the story was more compelling in Zora's domain. It was kind of emotional for me, really, as relating to the Zora Royal Family was easy since they were so kind about what had happened. The story behind the armor was heart wrenching as well. Like, call me a big sap, but I was really touched by the gestures behind it. (Hope I'm doin ok with keepin the spoilers to a minimum)

But yeah, the dynamic with the family despite what happened versus the old soldiers was heart wrenching. I’m expecting that dynamic to turn once Vah Ruta has been tamed but even then I’m kind of hoping it doesn’t. Even if they’re forgiving in a more understanding line but still bitter.

The Gerudo..... I’m iffy about. I like what Nintendo has extended to the race. But I feel like they muddled some bits too. Again I’m hoping that’s not all there is to them and I’m planning on leaving that story for last for different reasons.

In response to your question: The first Divine Beast I defeated was Vah Ruta. I saw the bandits far off in Gerudo desert, went "Yeah no too far right now" and went exploring elsewhere. Then I got it in my head that I wanted to see the other cities and such first before tackling any of the beasts. Once in Zora's domain, I just kinda.... got invested in the story there. People were angry and hurt, there was the whole bit with the armor that tugged at my heart. It was great.

I’m actually tackling that rn. I paused to give myself a moment to breathe after boarding and realizing that I’m fresh out of regular arrows. Even if I have a nice surplus of shock arrows (Suck it, Lynel!) I’m not sure if I can manage with just that and the small few arrows I’ve stocked up on. 

But yeah, I agree with you. The story there feels more compelling than elsewhere. idk why but the whole thing with the Gerudo and the Yiga Clan feels flat to me. Maybe it’ll pick up after the sneaking mission is over but I am hopeful that isn’t the only thing the story is about.

Okay but how awesome is it seeing a Divine Beast from really far off? I saw one in the Gerudo Desert while paragliding off a mountain and it was awe inspiring. First one I discovered wandering around too. Oddly though not the first one I completed.

Their introduction cinema really sells the point that these things are large and terrifying. I remember when I first started and saw Vah Medoh from far away. I was freaking out about the strange airship looking machine in the sky. But I watched it for such a long time.

But I’m curious, what was your first Divine Beast that you completed?

Honestly. The biggest problem of today is trying to fight madness with reasoning. Because in truth there is no madness. There is but a tactic to keep a ruse going to exhaust the opposition. Though that doesn’t mean we can’t be bitter bags of salt over it.

I like to think Gengar’s edgy “There is no escape. Give up.” dex entry means it’s going to prank you instead of kill you.

I mean to be fair in the anime, Ash was flat out killed by Gengar just so they could have fun and the Alolan dex insinuates that Gengar get super lonely.

But if Gengar and other ghost types were real, it would cause a far larger problem than that I think.
