The time has come to share with you one of the most gripping and spine tingling YA books I have ever got my hands on. THORNHILL. Even the name sends shivers down my spine when remembering how this book made me feel. My photographs do not do it justice! It follows the story of two girls and how their lives, although in different time periods, become intertwined. The story is told from two perspectives and two different times. One in the present day and one in the past. The unique and ingenious thing about this book is that those two perspectives are told through diary entries and pictures that have a stop motion or cinematic feel to them. The illustrations are so moody and @pamsmyillustrator not only manages to build suspense throughout the book but mainly does this through her subtle and detailed illustrations. This book is a page turner and keeps you on the edge of your seat until the end. I wouldn’t recommend this book to a primary aged audience. Although it’s incredible it is quite harrowing and has tricky themes in it. Especially towards the end.
