Really appreciate all the love for Slopes lately! It's been so helpful in getting back to writing and waking up certain parts of my brain. Building new pathways as I wrap my head around the angst for real, not just as an outline, has been good for me even if it's taking for freaking ever.

“Raven,” she grunted. She had suddenly become aware of the events that had led to this.

She tried to sit up, but pain shot through her body and forced her to lie back down.

“I wouldn’t advise you to sit up, just yet, Anya.” The familiar voice came from the other side of the campfire.

Anya looked straight at the person whose voice she hadn’t heard in years.

“Echo,” Anya looked around, “Where am I?”

Echo got up with a heavy sigh, “If I get close to you, don't attack me; my medical skills only go so far.”

Anya glowered at the woman, “It depends on whether it’s worth it.”

Echo walked around the fire, “Worth it if you can make it back to Polis in time before you bleed out and to see if Raven made it safe?”

Saw your post talking about canon Ranya from a year ago and it made me curios, how do you think they would've actually met for the first time?

Oof man idk. Idk how they would've met considering JRot's terrible writing but... how I would've liked to see it?

Gun vs sword dramatics 😤

Raven moving through the forest or something, some kind of lowkey incognito mission where she *thinks* she's always tracking her 6. *Thinks* she always has her eyes on everything and is slowly falling into this false sense of security despite the jacked up adrenaline running through her veins.

Maybe doing some kind of recon mission for a TonDC or trading post, maybe even a rogue band of raiders she stumbled upon by accident.

No sound except the thunder of her own heart, interrupted by a barely audible shuffle of leaves. The tiniest snap of a twig.

She swings around with her rifle already lifted, finger on the trigger and aiming... just to come face to face with the gleaming tip of a sword, Anya's stone cold face bathed in the dark of the forest night, nothing but the whites of her eyes shining through the black kohl of her warpaint.

For every three furious breaths Raven releases in labored rises and falls of her chest, Anya breathes once. Calm. Poised. Radiating authority and power as usual without even a tremble of her hand, despite staring down the barrel of Raven's gun.

It's a regular meet cute 💁‍♀️
