Arelette sighed as she finally made it up to her apartment, her true form now showing, tattoos gently flickering under her skin. She threw her bag into a corner and quickly went into the kitchen to fix herself a meal. She was glad that Pete hadn't come up; he knew that she was living on her own, but he didn't know about her powers, and certainly didn't know about how much she actually needed to eat. Seriously, she really needed to find herself a place closer to the school so that she could have an excuse to go home alone for lunch. She was always starving an hour or two before classes ended, and that was because normal food portions were comparable to snacks for her. Night fell a bit quicker than expected for Arelette. It was time to go out; even if she was new to town, and even though New York was full of heroes, there was always room for one more. She admittedly felt bad for the other heroes who had to suit up; all she had to do was shape-shift. Opening a window, Arelette turned into a bird and flew out, heading towards the docks; she had heard rumours that some kind of illegal shipment was coming in, though of what was unclear. { @amazing-parker }
